Wouldn't mind Noah, depending on his recovery from his injury. He can rebound, focus primarily on Defense, and wouldn't either clog the paint or whine about not getting so many touches on offense (especially if we can get Thibs to be HC so Noah can be fully utilized).

Have you watched Whiteside play? He is a hot head but he already knows what he is good at and bad at and that's fundamentally better than Dwight. In Dwight's head he's a great post player who doesnt get enough touches.

Dwights problems stem from his ****ty screens . Maybe it's his declined athleticism , but it seems he keeps wanting to fire a quick alley pop every time .... But other teams with long defenders can stop that . Dwight needs to set a screen so harden can penetrate easy ... And then roll hard to the hoop . Too many times he sets soft ass screens and harden gets trapped .

I don't mind an occasional post up , but his technique is so bad . He can't seal off guys . He
Pouts when he doesn't get the ball , but he gives his teammates like half a second to see him and pass before the defender manages to get into a good position to steal .

Dwight has a lot of fundamental issues on offense and his declining athleticism is making them stand out more . He can still be super productive if he just sets hard screens and commits to being a garbage man , but he doesn't want to do that enough . There are times when Dwight plays like this and he is a great player when he does . He did this in the playoffs and maybe he will do it again this year .

He has got to accept that for this team , with his personel this is the role he needs to take for this team to win . He has also got to hustle non stop on defense .

James has faults , he lack concentration , he makes stupid plays. Dwight does the same . And even if Dwight hustles a bit more that doesn't entitle him to get more touches that he wants . He's gotta sacrifice , lead by example 24/7 , and get on James ass about him focusing . But James isn't gonna respect or listen to him if he is just as much of a cherry picker . Especially since he's not as good.

Hopefully next year Capela can fill the role consistently , and set some real screens

pretty much agree. this is a hard thread to read. why so much Howard vs Harden? it doesn't have to be a contest between the two, honestly. :(

No better way to increase your payday than to go out there and show it on the court.

Time to lean on Dwight as if he was Arian Foster on a team with Fitzpatrick as the QB :).

I was on cloud 9 when we got Dwight. I was in a h&m store in Atl and wanted to scream. If he does go somewhere else, blame should go on Morey and the org. I'm fine with going in another direction but like you said.. No need to pile on.

Dwight has been great in the playoffs. That's what I care about. We could have gotten past the Warriors with health on our side. So close yet no cigar like the 09 team.

You made a blanket statement at first that Harden didn't "show up", and that was what I was referring to. You did not specify "just portland series".

And even with all those weaknesses, Harden is by far the most productive player and greatest contributor for the Rockets team this season (don't make me bring out all the stats), which means he is doing something on the court that more than offsets those negative qualities you've mentioned, like oh I don't know... scoring?

In contrast, Dwight does not possess that many positive qualities at this stage of his career that could counterbalance his glaring deficiencies. And therein lies the problem.

If Playoff Dwight occurred more often during the regular season, I'd care.

Read between [cyber's] lines. Howard is tired of being Harden's &/or Moreyball's *****.

Jack three, iso, jack three, iso, jack three, iso, miss three, miss three, miss three. Rinse. Repeat. Inside play? What's that?

Now whether another team will "showcase" or "value" him...TBD. (Probably not)

Imagine how the real post player D-Mo feels.

Malakas, I don't see how you feel that D12 is worth $25 million per year, especially on a 4-year deal. Considering how he has played this last year and a half, he would be getting an undeserved pay raise (new salary cap or not).

I hope Mavs gives him the ultra-max and become irrelevant for the next 5 years.

Meh it's not like the Howard experiment wasn't successful. We'd have won it all last year if it wasn't for running into the greatest team perhaps EVER.

That being said anyone who pays Howard a super max deal next year is just asinine. He can go to Charlotte or Miami but he won't win a damn thing.

Time to rebuild around Harden, Ariza, Beas, Capela, Dmo, KJ and Harrell. Bring in two deserving max guys and let's jettison Brewer, Terry, and probably Bev as well.

Funny that the HvsH stuff is coming directly from people supporting Dwight, lol.

Noah is a pretty nice passer, too. He dished 5.4 assists a game a couple of years ago. Did he get on with Thibs?

I would like for him to put his resignation in now. Keep him on the team and make a play-off run with him
    - He would bust his ass for a new contract - we win
    - Will not be STUCK paying him next year when he can't find the contract he is looking for - we win

-Yes the youth will not get the playing time, but have we seen a motivated Howard? Maybe interesting

Mark my words, if we get a Durant plus maybe another high impact free agent like a Conley or Horford to go along with him, or not, DWIGHT WILL SIGN FOR LESS TO TRY TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP HERE. (no, I'm not an insider)

If that doesn't look like it's going to happen early enough before some team offers Dwight 20 to more than likely 25 million plus over 4 years, he will go to that team if they are half way decent.

But Dwight has plenty of money and would like at least 1 ring to add to his hopeful legacy. I predict he will sign for even around 15 million, or even less if we hire the RIGHT coach and get a Durant, or at least 2 other marquee free agents. He wants to win a championship, loves Houston, and will still continue to make money in other ways with his new agents help.

Again, the key will be who we bring in as COACH, and mostly if we can get Durant and another great free agent in order for him to take the HUGE discount to play for a championship. Otherwise he takes the money and leaves, because we won't give it to him either way....probably.

Not surprising. He's looked completely checked out since the All Star break.

Honestly he always beasts in the playoffs so a good playoff run might cure everything only for him to be unhappy again when he doesn't get the touches the next season. He only gets high touches in the playoffs due to a slower pace that you can't really sustain during the season.

Dwight is still a good player but he's not worth the money he is currently being paid and the money that he wants in a new contract.

I'd like Dwight to stay if he took a big pay cut, but that's not going to happen.
