im all for trading harden but only for equal value. hard to pull off so if it doesnt work, let dwight go and do a better job surrounding harden with competent role players. you have to think abou tthe future too, not just present. harden surrounded with competent role players will make this team a 2nd/3rd round playoff team. better fa's will want join. right now durant isnt thinking of going to houston and waste the last years of his prime.
YAWN Obviously a Lin fan would want Harden traded. You can be a New Lin fan like you claim to be or an old Lin fan but y'all are still one and the same with little basketball knowledge. Harden is NOT the reason that Lin was traded. As you can see, your boy still sucks. A very mediocre back up is what Lin is.
Ummmm.... I agree that H&H is a failure... but, I think I'm happy to have back capella and harrell - just to name a couple...
Agree. Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Please update your browser to view this media content. No cohesion. Your turn, my turn, your turn, my turn. Lost to Portland in the first round. Made a run to the WCF. Awaiting a first round exit or missing the playoffs entirely. Largely unsuccessful [for the "best SG" and "best C" in basketball] Hope it's not another 18 years before another Western Conference Finals appearance.
Possibly just like the McGrady and Yao era failed at the time, goes to show how much management and coaching matter when you have the talent in place for the team, which seems this organization has overlooked through out the years for the team. Another missed opportunity due to bad to mediocre coaching and a management team that does not know how to manage talent at the moment.
Yao and Tracy had MAJOR injuries that team had championship written all over it though. The Lakers couldn't stop Yao even with Mcgrady out if he didn't go down Houston would have a third ring. We made it to the WCF's last year basically because of the position the Harden put us in. Dwight did play well in the playoffs but he's not the same player and I don't want to get in the habit of waiting for the playoffs for one player to play like an All Star that he's being paid to be. OP is right everyone not named Harden and Beasley need to go maybe even Dmo can stay if he's cheap enough. Time to hit the reset button.
Yeah, but it did not happen, even when healthy, could not get past the first round at the time. Agreed about Harden though, still have time to build off of him, but time is running out, the next coaching and personnel move this team makes will be a major decision at the time. Also, possibly made it the the western conference finals only to possibly regress the next year as a team.
If that is the case then it's another reason to let him go. He's been injured 2 staright years and just turned 30. He's done. I like him as a person he really does embrace the city. But if he's not interested in signing a 10m a year deal and playing 20-23 min a game most nights then he's got to go. Because him as our 2nd best player is what's holding this team Back. I'm sure that if you took Dwight out the rotaion for 10 games and played Capela/beasley/dmo front court rotaions the team would perform at a .650+ winning percentage. Capela for all his flaws is better at defending the paint and helping out on pick n rolls because he's just younger and more athletic. The dwight experiment failed and that's fine it was the right move to make. If he was his old Orlando self The team would be one of the best on the league and a legit threat for a title. We still won at a top 5 level in his 3 years but his time has expired in Houston in terms of being the highest paid player and number 2 face of the franchise. His post touched have cost the rockets 15 points to 0 for us the last two losses. That's bad and is a possibly the main reason why we've lost to the clippers and Hawks. Give beasley and harden the green light to learn to play with one another develop Clint and make a serious run at Durant and either conely or Horford. With beasley emergence we could have the most versatile offense in the league by next year with the proper additions and with a coach like thibs (fingers crossed) we could be top 5 offense and atleast top 5-10 defense which would be enough to contend. The rockets can potentially have a starting linup of Bev/harden/Durant/beasley/Horford or Conley/harden/Durant/Beasley/Capela With potentially ariza,Bev or Capela goudelock and Harrell/dekker on the bench with maybe a few ring chasing vets. That's how morey gets this team back to contender status and is a really good pitch to Durant. Here's to hoping beasley continues his Stellar play and keeps grabbing 9-10 rebounds. It's a very strong pitch. Can u imagine the nightmare Other coaches would have trying to gameplan harden up top with Durant and beasley on the wings? One of those guys is going to have a wide open shot or drive to the hoop. By playoffs with proper coaching that would be the most lethal offense in the leage.
And it's more fulfilling as a fan to follow young players who come up through the organization and contribute than trying to poach free agents all the time. I understand why past moves required moving or letting go Landry, Brooks, Scola, Lowry, P-Pat, Budinger, Parsons, etc. but it puts all the eggs in the basket of Harden and Howard, which clearly just doesn't work on its own.
I agree with your original post, but comments like this hurt your credibility. Last season was successful dude. Top 3 team in the league. If dwight doesn't get hurt in game 1, we are in that series against GS
It reminds me of the 04-05 Minny. They got Cassell and Sprewell to play with Garnett. Went to the WCF. Then the next season, they couldn't make the playoffs. Saunders got fired. And they have not been good again.
Don't forget we got to the WCF because of a miracle comeback with Harden sitting on the bench. The WCF appearance is overrated.
