According to article, NBA is reviewing this now.. great time to get suspended Dwight. Just in time for that precious 9th Seed.

If you are told it's illegal in the NBA why would you admit to the media of using it every game for 5 years?.....

Everybody ****ting on Howard in this thread....but desevingly so. He goofed on multiple levels tonight with this situation.

apparently, a fan is accusing the entire Rockets of spraying that on their hands for last couple seasons. Can't wait to see how this fiasco turns out!

Nothing in the rule book outlawing stickum specifically. Only thing it may fall under is that it is "equipment" that can be used for an advantage, but nothing spelled out specifically under that clause.

Well the rule that this would break is:

Section II - Duties of teh Officials, letter d

So stickum should be considered to be an unnatural equipment to gain an advantage. Though then you'll have to consider all the other things that players use to gain an advantage. Should NBA ban chalk or rosin powder? How about the thing that makes their sneakers grip better? What about finger tapes. I don't think it'll be difficult to make finger protector tape grippy.

This whole thing is weird...it's illegal, yet no one is presenting proof that it is.....that rule could definitely also apply to the court grip product, but it's still used and promoted, so wth...

Plus what about the "Power Grip" stuff? Is that no longer used?

I guess they could have taped it up to just hide the brand, since its out there with nba endorsed products, which would explain why they were so casual about it. For.some reason they thought it was ok to use, as long as it wasnt promoted.

I retract my earlier criticism. JB had nothing to do with this. He just removed the cans when the referees asked him to.

Also this seems like a totally frivolous storyline.

I think the bigger concern is Dwight stupidly rubbing all that glue on the ball enough for Millsap to feel it. Obviously it may affect him at the ft line.

I really might think that Dwight might be an alcoholic, there is something not right about him when on the court.

Good find on the power grip. The maker of Powergrip was/is(?) an official NBA partner and were definitely legal.
