Please trade for Lucroy before Sunday. My keeper league draft is Sunday and if he's coming here I'm keeping him. If not I'm rolling with the new kid Seagar. I already have Correa as my long term SS.
I wish, isn't Castro set to be a free agent? You could clear out some of the White/Reed/Moran/Duffy/Singleton/Bregman blockage which needs to happen anyway. And then we would have the best catching combo in the majors and Castros replacement already on board.
MLB.com posted an article with potential Lucroy trades. Their Astros offer was Jake, Martes and Stassi. Not sure I would do that.
I highly doubt the Astros would deal Martes in a deal for Lucroy based on all the gushing from the Astros minor league coaches.
I hope your right because I wouldn't either. Take out Martes and insert Singleton, and I am fine with it
Martes, probably not. But all the rest mentioned absolutely. 2 years team controlled, and prior to last year he was an elite catcher. Having said that, I still really like Marisnick. If he can show some stability with the bat I think he could still be our future CF. He just can't be an offensive black hole.
i feel like there are always backup catchers who get cut towards the end of ST. Teams will go with a young #2 over a veteran who is out of options, leaving guys out there for the taking. Not too worried if we expect to have an open 40 man slot...and we do
Not sure he would be much of an improvement over our internal candidates, other than he has more experience. Corporan isn't on a 40-man, so he should be available.
a 4th OF (though likely starter on many teams), a 1B who is likely a career AAAA player, and a backup currently injured catcher? Yeah, I'd certainly take Lucroy for that.
In light of yesterday's game and my comment: Brad Penny to retire https://t.co/TiuvcTbjHD So the Astros shelling him yesterday was enough to get him to retire. In all fairness, I thought he retired a few years ago, so whatevs.
Guess which OF had the fastest throw in MLB last season. Spoiler 103 mph Video is about someone else, but Carlos and Marisnick are mentioned toward the end. http://m.indians.mlb.com/news/article/167882016/indians-casey-weathers-can-throw-108-mph
Yea I don't think there's additional upside there, but having experience is a big deal. That being said they'd probably go with Corp if they had the chance.
