GOP admits having primary voters is a waste of time: 3:35
Maybe we should get some context? Is a riot unacceptable when the will of the people isn't carried out in a democracy?

Obviously it's acceptable to some people. But not to most of us and not to the American way.

Parties are not democracies -- never have been. Democracy has not been subverted until the voting in the general election isn't honored (oh, or did that already happen maybe). You get the idea.

If you don't like how your party is run, start a new one that is more responsive to its members. Long overdue.

Putin isn't laughing at Obama, as Obama has crippled the economy in Russia with sanctions.

Knomeini has been rotting in hell for years.

Assad isn't laughing, his country has been decimated and his grip on power has been and will be very often challenged.

    LOL.
"Why do we have primaries then?"
    "That's a good question."

Riot (violence) is never acceptable, but I would certainly understand the source of it.

I don't see why anyone would riot. Since dem's the rules. Been the rules for a long time. The party selects the nominee, this is how the GOP has decided to select their nominee.

If you and your fellow white nationalists do decide to riot though please direct your anger at the Republican party.

Reagan smuggled arms to Iran to get hostages released, then used the money to fund terrorist crazies (the Contras). He also, in this common theme, funded and supplied weapons to the Taliban.

He also supported Saddam when he was gassing and using chemical weapons on Iranians.

    http://foreignpolicy.com/2013/08/26...rove-america-helped-saddam-as-he-gassed-iran/

His handling and gloating over the Soviet Union ultimately ended up seeing Russia turn into a mafia-run autocracy.

Really, every thing this dude touched was slimy as f**k, and everything basically ended up being an utter disaster, from foreign policy to economics. People are still cleaning up his messes.

The fact that the modern GOP hero-worships him can be traced to their utter dysfunction now.

The irony is that Ronald Reagan, may he rest in peace (sincerely, even though I voted against him twice), wouldn't sniff the nomination today. He would be seen as too moderate by the extremists who rule the Republican Party in the early days of the 21st Century.

Absolutely true. He supported amnesty on the immigration issue....and the 1986 tax reform was not exactly what you would call "revenue neutral" when it rolled back the tons of deductions that the tax code provided for previously. Federal spending increased almost 70% under Reagan...and after he was President, he advocated on behalf of restrictions on gun rights, specifically for requiring background checks for all gun purchases.

The Republican Party has moved so far to the right of Reagan.

Thank you, Max, for providing an intelligent response, which is entirely unsurprising. I've made the same comment a few times the last 2 or 3 years and it is always ignored by the "loudest voices" of the so-called Republicans that post here. Yet when I talk to actual Republicans, Republicans of decades standing, Republicans I've known for a very long time indeed, they are dismayed by the actions, or deliberate inaction, of their own party. It is a disconnect that exists not only here, but in the media that "serves" today's GOP. They ignore just how unwelcome President Reagan would be in today's Republican Party, pretending that they are somehow following his "legacy," when most of the members here who are the "loudest" were children during his two terms, if that.

How simpleminded are people that their only reaction and solution to something they see as injustice is to riot?

I think it is the Democrats who need to (and should) split. I think the DNC would be fooling themselves if they were to think an election against Trump is a cake walk. They need to generate a "moderate" Democratic party where both "disenfranchised" Republicans and Democrats can meet.

I think just about everyone knows that it would be a cake walk for ANYONE to run against Trump in a national election.

That said, I don't think the Republican party is going to let Trump destroy the party but we'll see.

I don't think anyone has any idea about Trump in the general election.

Cruz won't win any states that McCain or Romney didn't win. So he loses.

Trump could put Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, New Hampshire, and maybe some others into play depending on turn out and the demographics of turn out.

Trump V. Hillary might cause plenty of others to stay at home. And maybe some to go out that wouldn't normally vote to go out and vote for both sides.

I think it's totally unpredictable should Trump run as the GOP nominee.

Cruz gives the Republicans a chance, he's not going to cause people to stay home or for Republicans to vote Hillary. Trump WILL cause hundreds of thousands of people to stay home for vote Hillary.

With Cruz, the Republicans probably retain the house and senate, with Trump they certainly lose the house and probably the senate too.

Basically Trump is the worst thing that has ever happened to the Republican party.

I'd say it's all a byproduct of Bush Jr.

Bush created the climate that got Obama elected, Obama created the climate that will get Trump the nom. Bush really ****ed it all up for the conservative movement. Soft on Borders, stupid on Iraq and military spending, dumbfounded on education.
