Simple sweeps are meaningless with proportional delegates when you are that far behind. Just winning is irrelevant - he needs to win those big states like 60-30, just as Hillary won her big states by those margins. Thus the reason that math says the nomination is impossible (barring something that forces Hillary to drop out).
well she may be wanted by the fbi and she has a fainting issue. gop spread a rumor that she had brain damage lol. i know that's not funny but i can't help myself!!! this conan gag always cracks me up, <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Nil9GF0y6NI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
fbi answers to obama, and in any case longstanding GOP whores will take hillary over trump any day in order to preserve their own jobs and 'way of life' -- hillary will be the next POTUS
Trump's rise may even affect the course of the FBI investigation. Somewhere, someone important is sitting with her files thinking... "email negligence, maybe,... or fascist president... hmmm... yeah, not a difficult call."
THE GAME was never about winning the nomination, the fix was in before the race started... Bernie wasn't even a Democrat. The party leadership set up the race for Ms. Clinton to win, she had 30 years of name recognition and just looking at Trump you can see how general familiarity and notoriety rule the American elective process. Bernie's game was always to bring Progressive ideas back into the US political conversation, to counter corporate media's control of the national narrative. And, to engage younger voters in the political process, to vote for their own economic interests. Bernie's supporters have to feel pretty good about just how much he influenced Ms. Clinton's campaign message. Bernie is not about just this election, he's about the decades it will take to counter the Cold War propaganda that has left US politics in the control of lawyers, lobbyist and Public Relations people who serve those that pay them. It's just a step in electing progressive Congressmen and Senator. It will be much more interesting in the future to see if Bernie hits the road campaigning in the mid-terms. Or if real thinking in politics just dies off.
Wasn't this what Obama did? And he actually won. There were a ton more young voters and progressives excited and voting in the election in 2008 than in 2016.
He had progressive aspirational language but no progressive policy proposals. Truly, not like Bernie has. Obama has always been a pragmatic centrist, even with his promises, in my view. And that's one thing I've always liked about him.
Agree, Mr. Obama was vaguely progressive in campaigns but in reality the best he could do is just countering (vetoing) a regressive and obstructive Congress with centrist pragmatism. He certainly never bit the hand that feeds politics like Bernie has. And those young people bailed on the mid-terms like they didn't matter. That's why Bernie need to keep up the heat even though he is not this year's nominee. One can be more aggressive and incendiary when you are not tasked with representing the entire nation.
But that's what young people do. They are fickle voters - always have been, always will be. If you're expecting the "Feel the Bern" movement to last longer than the "Yes We Can" movement, you're going to be sadly disappointed. Certainly - people like him and Elizabeth Warren can never be President, but they can and should play a huge role in the political process.
I've already stated that I don't expect young people to be engaged at all. I grew up on the back end of the 60's, the MF'er that were protesting the war then are the FAUX watchers and corporate autocrats now. Everything changes when you have a family, whatever privileges and advantages you are given become imperative to retain to ensure the dominance of your progeny. It's biological.
Of course. We all vote based on what is best for our own need, not the health of the country. When I was 20 and living with 3 roommates making near minimum wage, I would be all about doubling minimum wage. Now that I am older and established, I understand doubling minimum wage only means higher cost of goods for me and my base salary being depreciated. There is a good reason why Democracy is described as 2 wolves and a sheep asking what is for dinner.
THE FIGHT FOR BERNIE'S POLITICAL REVOLUTION IS NOT OVER An excerpt from an interesting article in the Nation Magazine. Now I realize that most folks and the mainstream media only focus on the 2016 horse race. ********** Keeping Clinton from reverting to a neo-liberal default isn’t the only reason for Sanders to stay in the race—or the most important. As Sanders has always said, his aim is “a political revolution.” Winning the nomination would be nice, but is neither necessary nor sufficient to bring that about. Building a nationwide, durable network of mobilized, active supporters prepared to keep working for universal healthcare, a living wage, ending Wall Street welfare and America’s endless wars—including the drug wars—in numbers great enough to Occupy the Democratic Party and take it back from its corporate funders is absolutely crucial. So, too, is the difficult work of stitching together movements like #BlackLivesMatter, Fight for 15, immigrant rights, climate justice, and voting rights into a coalition prepared to march together, vote together, and transform our politics—and our country. http://www.thenation.com/article/the-fight-for-bernies-political-revolution-is-not-over/
lol Now that you are older and have consumed many years of mainstream media from Fox though ABC, NBC etc you now believe that $15/hr will somehow harm you as a little non- multi-millionaire/billionaire guy. lol you believe only the poor and lower middle class who are just a few $/hr below you on the food chain want free stuff from the government. It is too abstract and not within your daily experience to realize that the big guys who control your media consumption want much more expensive free stuff like, roads, airports, trained workers who have paid for their own training with private student loans, government funded basic research the big guys can piggy back off of, government bailouts when their risky financial bets lose etc. etc. You have been brainwashed to think of them as "job creators", "makers, not takers" and even more laughable folks you actually have the same economic interests with.
Sanders needs 57% of remaining pledged delegates to win the nomination in regions he's picked up the majority of states. Far from done.
copy and pasting from reddit does not make it more mathematically possible it's over unless Hillary gets indicted
Any proof that there were tons of more young voters in 2008? . Yeah, inspiring even poetic rhetoric from Obama, "hope and change", "yes, we can!!" was a lot less specific than national health care, free state college, overturning mar1juana laws, taxing Wall Street etc. Much of America got fooled with Obama. They thought the seemingly very cool black guy signified a big change, but he turned out to be a cautious centrist establishment type which is probably why Wall Street gave him more money than Hillary. In the S and L crisis which was about 1% of the size of the 2008 fraud, hundreds of bankers went to jail, but not with the Obama WhiteHouse. I know their heavy financial contributions played no roll per Obama and Hillary. Blocked by House and Senate control? Obama and Eric Holder who had made a career representing these banks did not even try. This time the Debbie Wasserman-Hillary DNC did not do the typical voter turn out and registration effort by some reports as 7/10 new registered voters supported Bernie.
Yes - it turns out we record actual turnout and can count the number of voters in 2008 vs the number of voters in 2016. There were a whole hell of a lot more then than now.
