again. why are you using gun violence? why not just violence? The means does not matter. Stop using firearm homicide rates. That's a dumb study.

Who said anything about gun laws? I wasn't suggesting easier access to obtaining a gun leads to gun violence. I said the physical presence of a gun leads to more opportunities for gun violence.

The point of the article was and my argument is that the presence of a gun is more likely to lead to violence than the prevention of violence.

 

Then why did you use gun violence and not just violence? also how are you proposing reducing the 'presence of guns'? by gun laws perhaps?

 

Hopefully people would use common sense and stop purchasing them especially if they have young children. Alas idiots like the woman in the article seem to lack such.

I'm no gun advocate and do not own a gun, but you do realize an armed citizenry is an integral part of the check and balance of our government, right? It's the price we pay for freedom. Deal with it.

Isn't that the argument often used? Guns don't kill people, people kill people. If people want to kill people they will find a way. The implication is the guns don't make any situation more dangerous. The Vegas shooter could have easily made a sophisticated bomb, killing 50 and injuring 500. Guns dont make killing people easier.
