It makes too much sense to bring him here but trading CJ there makes no sense at all, that would be too many te's. Might as well keep him as a blocker. But man Bennett plus a wr in the first round would be sweet
Just repeating what I was told from someone that is pretty credible. It may never happen, Bennett is slow as molasses and wants an extension, which I don't know anyone will give him. No idea of draft picks going either way, just that Pace has really tried to move him and supposedly doesn't want $1,000,000 in dead money if released.
Huge diff. Bennett can still produce. Last year was his down year of 3 TDs. Under 500 yards (BETTER THAN anything we have had) Bennett would give it his all if he came home to Houston.
MB is a huge target and would be a great safety valve for BO. He could also help the running game a bit, as he's 6'6" 273. I'd be for the trade if we can develop Griffin or get another TE that can bust the seam.
Nate Washington agent Brian Overstreet on Patriots: 'Good visit, Nate enjoyed it. It would be a good oppoirtunity to play with Tom Brady. Hopefully, we can get something done. Obviously, they're one of the top franchises' Door not closed w/ Texans. — Aaron Wilson
No one has really mentioned Devon Still, I feel like he could actually be an impressive signing under the radar...

Cutting Hoyer would give the Texans 15 mil under the cap. Which should be more than enough to add Thomas to the roster.

Having never missed a game, I would take him at age 32. But at a $10M cap hit for the next 3 seasons, at age 32, at a position where we already have 2 capable starters (1 very good, though coming off injury), I can't give up more than a 2nd rounder and maybe a late pick. The need just isn't strong enough.
It isn't, till it is. We can be as stocked as we want at the skill positions... and have a deft turnover-creating/hell-rasiing defense... but if they don't have a solidified O-line, they won't have a season.

I agree, but I don't think you add depth by paying for top-money starters (one of Brown, Newton, Thomas in this case) to ride the bench. You instead draft that depth so young guys learn on the bench and rotate in, or you sign solid depth guys who can be good replacements if needed, but ideally are subs Otherwise, why don't we go sign Fitzpatrick in case Brock gets hurt? I mean, QBs get hurt often, and right now if Brock gets hurt, the season is likely screwed. The cost of acquisition--and opportunity cost especially--just doesn't make sense. (I'm assuming Hoyer is cut/traded eventually)
