They purposely didn't show that exact moment. Leaves more to the imagination and gets you thinking more. This show is all about that.
No commentary? Great episode to set up the rest of the season. That opening scene really showed the real reason Chuck doesn't like Jimmy.
Good episode and agree that it explained a lot. The last two minutes were a nice gimmick, can't wait to see how this further develops.
I would say the scene with Kim where he tells the story of their dad goes more to the root of his dislike of Jimmy than the stuff with Chuck's wife.
Didn't Kim have a similar scene with Jimmy in the nail salon in season 1? There have been many scenes where Kim just sits there saying nothing and stares/listens to the person talking.
Episode was boring. Just the whole struggling lawyer BS drama since the show started. Only highlight of the show was Mike running into Hector Salamanca, a lot of potential there. Should have called this show "Better Call Mike". That's the only story line keeping me interested at this point.
As a guy who's really enjoyed the slow pace of the show so far... this last episode was too slow even for me. I mean what did we really get? Some background on Chuck's dislike for Jimmy (okay, I guess), Kim running through all her phone contacts, showing the chick assigned to basically babysit Jimmy, Mike running into Hector... ...and not a whole lot else. There was almost zero narrative. It was all "x person is in y headspace" right now. You've could've distilled the plot for this episode down to 5 minutes. Let's get back to some narrative guys... come on. If the previous episodes were slow, this was a complete stop.
I think most people missed perhaps a scene that will go a long way: I think Mike seeing Jimmy with his "assistant" and Jimmy seeing Mike beat up somehow forges a connection. Maybe Mike calls on Jimmy to help him out legally, and Jimmy- well, the problem he's having is that he wants to do these things that are above the law or against the grain of Davis & Main, but he keeps getting busted when he does it- he's just not that smart of a criminal yet- but you know who is? Mike. I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy says, "Hey, I'll get you out of this mess with Tuco/Hector if you help me do some stuff for this Sandpiper case." Obviously, there are only certain things Jimmy can do- he being the lawyer- but when it comes to planting evidence and things like that (think back to the Kettlemans), Mike is a perfect one to do that, and Jimmy can honestly say, "Hey, I didn't do anything wrong!" I have no doubt that this is how Mike starts working with Jimmy- like the way Mike bugs Walter White's house, maybe he bugs Schweikart - the law firm representing Sandpiper.
Just complete speculation here, but it wouldn't shock me if Jimmy's/Chuck's father wasn't at all like Chuck described.
I got that but . . . Chuck is not a reliable narrator I am not ready to accept his story 100% just yet though it does sound about right Rocket River
Slowwwwww slow episode. They could've accomplished everything they did (not much at all) in about 15 minutes.
The drama with Hector is interesting. Not only is he on the opposite side of the fence with Hector right now...but he ends up working for the guy that despises Hector more than anything else in the world. I have a feeling the Gustavo will make his way into this whole mess before the season is over. That's when the real orgy will start.
I got the feeling that Chuck immediately blamed Jimmy for skimming but I doubt it was as simple as that....
