Crazy to think at one time they had mike conley and kyle lowry on their team. They were always done without gasol. If zbo and conley miss time, we have a chance at the 5th spot
Beg to disagree. If this is the game the rockets needed to get some momentum, then OP is a legend for starting it
We know their pain, since we're very well acquainted with injuries. I'm glad we got the huge win, but beating a super sucky depleted team isn't a cause to beat our chest over. Unless it's the Mavs, then fugg the mavs
Woot. Woot It's like we beat a quadruplegic in a wrestling match and we're gloating about it? I'm surprised one of the assistant coaches didn't suit up We may benefit from their misfortune but is that REALLY an achievement? Nothing to see here. Let's move on
Confidence is everything these days... Hopefully Rockets get some. 49 point victory regardless of who you play has to contribute a little of it right? If anything the blowout allowed for bickerstaff to give extended minutes to a much developed bench. Loved the Gouldlock, Kj, Harrell, Beasly , Capela lineup. I think that should be the first bench unit of the game. Pat Harden Riza DmO Dwight Gouldlock Kj/Brewer Beasly Harrell Capela Terry/smith / jones. Minutes in blowouts.
Free win is free win. At the end of the year if we get a better seeding by one game, no one's putting an asterisk here.
Alright. Let me respond to this reply by joeson332 and also clarify my intent in posting this thread last night in my enjoyment of the euphoria of a 49 point win. My understanding of the "Official Appreciation" threads (e.g., when a player leaves the Rockets) is that such threads provide an opportunity and an occasion for forum members to post heart-felt, sincere, and generally favorable best wishes to the departing player. Now, I understand that with unpopular players there may be a tendency for some forum members to reply with snark, sarcasm, or caustic remarks. But overall I believe the intent of such "appreciation" threads is just that: to state one's appreciation of the person/entity being honored. My INTENT in posting this thread last night was similarly charitable. Basking in the warm glow of the Rockets' win over the hapless Grizzlies, I was moved to invoke a generally sympathetic, charitable, and appreciative homage to the Memphis team. (1) Generally sympathetic, because I think that in my heart and for other forum members as well, there was a genuinely mournful empathy for the Grizz that can be summed up as "There but for the grace of God go I," or, collectively, that could have been the Rockets if circumstances were reversed. So honestly, there was no intent on my part to "mock" Memphis, as one poster put it. (2) Basically charitable, even though in my post-49 point win exuberance, I could have worded my original post a bit more tactfully. I acknowledge that my statement, "I mean, after all, they're gone. Done. Kaput." could have been expressed more tactfully. But in my partial defense, I was trying to convey something of the post-departure spirit of official appreciation threads. In hindsight, I probably could have been/should have been less flippant. (3) Appreciative, because honestly, the Rockets NEEDED THAT WIN. This is perhaps the sentiment I was trying to express. In other words . . . Goddammit I am THANKFUL FOR THE GRIZZLIES TONIGHT!!!! I appreciate the Grizzlies tonight. I mourn and sympathize with the Grizzlies tonight, but dammit, tonight my cup overfloweth with joy and happiness at the Rockets' good fortune, purchased in part at the price of the Grizzlies' misfortune. Que sera, sera. Anyway. I don't think I need to be called an ass. I did not intend to act like an ass, and I am sorry if I came across as an ass in the original post. But no need for name-calling. There's enough of that in the Lin thread. With that . . . back to your lives, citizens.
what are you talking about? this is a turning point watch. its gonna happen this time. i can feel it.
