Did you pay attention to what I said originally? For the majority of his career he spent the majority of his minutes at PF, which is true. I just posted proof of this and yet you still struggle to follow along. Public school failed you.
Whether you consider 6'9 to be small or not has nothing to do with the offense sets being played, and the defenses being used against it. Do you think our C, Beasley, SF, 2 guard lineup is playing the same game as our Small Ball lineup with Howard, Ariza, Brewer, Harden, Bev, or not? If you think they are the same, then you clearly only have the capacity to grasp one type of PF play, because you aren't grasping what a face-up PF game is.
Are you stupid? BREF already calculates this number. It's 51% at PF. You don't need to do some really bad math using really bad estimates.
If you are a D-Mo fan who wants him to reach his potential offensively with the Rockets, you want him at the 5. I personally don't care. Whatever is better for the team, but putting him at the 4 in this offense you are likely going to see stat lines like he's had the past few games. Maybe with slight improvements. If you have a better team defense than the Rockets have had with better principles & discipline at all 5 spots (the Rockets have been atrocious this year obviously), you could put D-Mo at the 5 EVENTUALLY and survive on that end. However I've said before for years that he's not going to be there for sometime, but eventually that's where he's headed in the NBA. This year.... hell no it wouldn't be good for anyone. Offensively though, the D-Mo DieHards should be hoping and praying to see him at the 5 as much as possible because it will surely boost his offensive production by giving him the center of the floor in the offense.
Even if your 51% PF number is accurate, it doesn't really prove your point that he's a PF. He played PF with Miami during his first two years in the league. In terms of total minutes for his entire career, his first Miami tenure accounts for 40% of his total minutes. After he left Miami, every other team for which he played used him as a SF. So you can make the argument that no other team (including Miami in the future) saw him as a PF. In any case, let's look at the first few Miami years. If you look at their roster, you'll see that the only true PF they had was Haslem. You can easily argue that the Heat used him out of position at PF b/c he was the best available option.
I had lunch today with Dmo at the Burger Joint in Monstrose earlier. He is a really down to earth guy. He said he is healthy and doesn't understand why Bicerkstaff doesn't give him any minutes and it's not up to him to decide whether he should play or not. I told him to go out and there and just Dominate and be himself like he use to. He told me he's trying too man. Sounds like he and the coach doesn't get a long or what I don't know. But he does look like something is bothering him and is affecting his game.
The whole argument is whether using Beasley at pf is going small. Most of the time he's played has been at pf or c. People are trying to compare him to Ariza at pf. That's crazy. Ariza has played like 80% at SF
I think Beasley at the 4 is going small. What he brings to the table is more in line with a SF than a PF. And I've already addressed your claim that he's spent most of his time at PF. Miami played him at PF out of necessity due to their personnel. When other teams had a choice, they used him at SF.
You can also easily argue that Miami didnt try to get any other PFs because they already had Beasley. Also, when he returned to Miami from 2013-15 he played mostly PF. Minnnesota used him at PF or C over 40% of the time. And of course the Rockets are using him at PF despite having the vaunted DMo on the roster, not to mention Capela and Montrezl. "What he brings to the table is more in line with SF" in the old NBA perhaps
I don't know...I'm willing to carry a 4 page argument about the merits of loving vs really liking it haha.
Man, what a bummer. The assumption on ClutchFans now is that other posters are fans of a player over the team. Sad day indeed.
Did you really have lunch with the man and asked him all those personal questions? Personally I highly doubt it. Lol
We'll see how ignorant I am the next time you have to come here and once again try to explain to us why Dmo isn't playing up to par.
Wait, so the new DMo fan thing is to say that he's not playing because the Rockets are going small with Beasley? I only skimmed the last couple of pages. Is GSW also going small with Green? You know, possibly the best team of all time?
Yes. They are saying Howard, Beasley, Ariza, Harden and Bev is a new Rockets Small Ball lineup. wrt: GSW playing small ball with Green. They do when he plays center. But, this DMo logic will also say GSW is playing small ball all the time with Green, whether Bogut/Ezeli are in or not, simply because he's 6'7. That means Harrell lineups are small ball, too.
