I'm not convinced Duane brown will be playing to start this year if at all. His injury is far more severe than we act like in discussing this team. Offensive line is a huge need for this team and if they can get a tackle in the draft they are going to do it.

Spotrac and OTC are showing about 15.5 mil in cap space, but neither one is showing Millers contract yet. So that will drop it, I'm assuming specifics of his deal haven't yet been released.

Also, Once Hoyer is either traded or released, that well add nearly 5mil to the cap as well.

All in all anywhere between 15-20 mil of cap space. Subtract the draft pool and injury cap, I would assume anywhere from 5-8 mil in space. Enough to sign another FA or two if they really want.

Plus, his cap hit for 2017 (depending on his level of play post-injury), may result in him getting released.

We need to start looking for our next franchise LT. I think we need to prioritize that almost over everything else...if there is a good one in the first round, jump on it.

We need: OT, TE, DE, ILB, and S.

Fortunately, by signing Brock and Lamar, we have much more flexibility and freedom to truly pick BPA among those positions of need. This is a very important draft for the Texans. We should be looking to get a minimum of 3 players that will be big contributors moving forward.

How long does it take for one to fully heal from an injury like Duane's? I'm kinda glad that the season won't start until September.

He has a torn quadriceps tendon which is particularly devastating. It's significant damage to a player. I'm very concerned.

Will Okung take a home town discount? I think we should make an offer quietly and see what happens.

Why would anyone want Percy Harvin?

Thats basically draft pool money and a cheap vet or two. Obviously Hoyer frees up money but I doubt Texans are in on anything beyond a 2-3 mil/yr deal

Yep, filling out roster space. For some reason I thought they had like $15 million in space before they move on from Hoyer, which would put them at $20 with $6 for the cap.

With really only $5 to $9 million of "free money" and the needs to fill out the roster with some veterans, don't expect anything substantial to happen from here on out unless the restructure some contracts.

That would be a solid pickup. He is a good kick returner but doesn't deserve any carries at RB and won't get them.

He would be an interesting pickup, and it would be a very NE thing to do. The NE way is RB by committee and he'd be an extra pass catching RB to add to an already solidified position.

I think this is March Madness related, not Texans.

    Dunno.

He's an interesting player. The Patriots had him in for a visit last week.

However, he's a restricted FA so the Rams could just match any low dollar deal we signed him to.
