Sure, Chuck Hayes was an undersized center....but you could also say that when you have Chuck Hayes at the 5 it's small ball. When you have Beasley at PF, you lack size and it showed last night. DMo, who is a weak rebounding PF, had the same number of boards in 5 minutes as Beasley had in 15. When they had DMo and Dwight on the court, they had a size advantage and it was working. They chose to give that up and the Hornets grew a 20 point lead as a result. That's the problem with JBB, going small worked in some matchups, so he thought it would work in all matchups. He doesn't change his game plan based on opponent. He tried to force small ball, and it killed them.
No one claimed that he literally played every second at PF. Pretty much every player moves around some. Every year he has played PF, and the majority of his minutes have been at PF. Only 1/3 of his minutes at SF. #AgendaCrew
Why are you guys trying to make a point about how he's listed? Can't you just watch the game and see he's playing our PF position. He is running our PF sets. He is a PF in our offense. Beasley is playing an LMA role on our team, in the past few games. He runs PnR and he plays a face-up PF post game. Going small in Rockets ball is about stretching the floor for Harden and Howard/Capela. It's completely different offensive sets from our PF offense. Howard, Beasley, Ariza, Harden, PG is not our small ball lineup. I don't even understand the point of arguing over whether a 6'9 PF/SF who plays a LMA game is PF or SF. Is Beasley at PF the same offense we run when Ariza is at PF? That's the question. And the answer is absolutely not. "Small ball" is a different offense than when Beasley plays PF. The defenses against each are likewise different.
Link for that source? Well for a guy who hasn't played in over 9 months due to a back injury... Right...right....
LOL, now I'm just convinced that you don't know how to look things up on Basketball-reference....and that's sad. Well thanks for trying to follow along, one of these days you'll get it.
DMO hasn't played well this season. He's not shooting well or defending averagely. Reasonable thinking would suggest he's, well, recovering from injury and still working his way back. Sounds like coach was falling on the sword. If these comments were pre-trade, there's even more of an agenda.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/beaslmi01.html Clearly I have to because some people are just sad. 2010-2011 56% SF 41% PF 3% C 2011-2012 56% SF 31% PF 13% C 2012-2013 70% SF 30% PF 1% SG 2013-2014 58% SF 40% PF 3% C That is a 250 game sample, more than half of the 437 total games he's played in his career.....I know the math should be obvious, but I can't assume that it is obvious to all
Sorry you don't understand the difference between a traditional, face-up PF offense vs the Rockets' Small Ball offense. And in your own words to Mr. Clutch, "Well thanks for trying to follow along, one of these days you'll get it."
He's running away as usual. He doesn't understand numbers or statistics. Oh, and Beasley in the playoffs: PF- 74% c- 24% SF- 2% Yep, Beasley definitely is a "small" like the #AgendaCrew says
He said that last night after being asked if DMo was hurt given that he played well and only saw 5 minutes. Also, the deal with JBB being awful at being a coach isn't just a DMo issue. The team also played well with Harrell out there because they needed the size on the court that DMo or Harrell could provide at the 4 and instead they went small. JBB is just terrible at putting the right players on the court for the right amount of time.
LOL at cutting off the sample to 4 years. #AgendaCrew Even in what you posted, he's always played a significant amount of PF. Again, for his WHOLE career, he's 51% PF and 33% SF.
I understand that you don't get that Beasley is small for a 4 but unfortunately there's nothing I can do to help you until you can somehow figure out basic concepts like that. You clearly have a lot in common with JBB in that sense.
