Beasley is going small - he is a 6'7" PF. You take out a 7 footers to put in an undersized PF, that is the definition of going SMALL - now we went even SMALLER later - but we go small all the stinking time.

One thing you guys have to understand is that JB is under tremendous pressure to feature Howard. Can you guys imagine the disruption in the locker room if Howard is not getting the vast majority of the post touches? Howard is playing for a contract after all unfortunately; DMO is collateral damage in his pursuit. The only reason why DMO got a shot last year was because Howard was injured. DMO clearly proved last year that he needs consistent touches in the post to catch a rhythm. You have to be a certified hater like Mr. Clutch to not realize (guy has no vision whatsoever) this. DMO would have been an impact player far sooner in his career if McHale would have parked his butt in the post and instilled confidence in him instead of having him spotting up on the 3pt line. There are 2 issues in play right now. The Rockets have TERRIBLE coaching (weak and unimaginative) and that has been the case for a long time. The 2nd issue is DMO himself. Heneeds to be an advocate for himself. He needs to demand the ball, command his position, talk to Morey, Harden, whoever will listen and remind those guys how effective he can be down there. I’ve seen this story played out in other situations Major Applewhite at UT years ago or Drew Brees in San Diego. I’m not comparing DMO to those guys but just trying to demonstrate how really talented guys can be dismissed if they are not advocates for themselves.

Beasley ain't small folks. Absolutely legit PF size. Motiejunas alligator arms makes him just as "small", If not smaller. Not intended as a knock on my beloved Donuts either.

Oh, I know been talking about the politics of this team killing it all year.

Howard is a cancerous object that is fools gold, he is not worth trying to keep, should have jettisoned his lazy ass when we had a chance.

Actually I think Harrel is the shortest of all of them but has a totally sick reach that practically makes him 7 foot.

Beasley has SF size, he's not terribly different in size than Trevor Ariza......but Ariza actually has a better standing reach and a longer wingspan.

Sorry if it doesn't work with narratives, but Beasley at PF IS going small.

It's the measure of how high a player can reach while standing flat footed

    Ariza 8' 11.5"

    Beasley 8' 11"

Can't find DMo's standing reach but he does have short arms for a NBA player it seems.

True, his arms are short for his size being only 6'11, but his size makes up for it when playing PF.

Very true, the long arms of guys like Beasley and Ariza is why they can play small ball 4.

Again, Dwight is averaging the second least amount of FGA a game in his career. I don't think the Dwight narrative of taking post touches away from DMo holds any water.

Another possibility, like last time DMo played before being traded, is he is having back issues again. DMo went from playing 15-20 minutes a game to 5 minutes then being shut down temporarily. Maybe a similar thing is happening again.

Right, but it maybe a wash compared to someone like Ariza who isn't as tall but makes up for it with length. DMo does have weight as an advantage when matching up with bigs.

LOL. Ariza does have long arms. He's got a 1/2 inch on Beasley in standing reach and 1 1/2 inches in wingspan.

But Beasley has got him by about 25 lbs on the scales and Beasley is obviously the stronger player....especially at this respective stage of each man's career with Beasley still being in his 20's. Yes, Beas is a small power forward. But he's bigger and stronger than Ariza.

Well he has more assmass than Ariza, I was just showing that they are about the same height and have about the same reach. Beasley might be able to hold his ground a bit better than Ariza due to that extra weight, but he's still a lot closer to SF size than PF size.

Add 25 pounds to Ariza and he's still a SF and putting him at the 4 is still going small.
