What happened to Joel Blank?

    I thought they were both fine due to lowered expectations since there will never be another Rockets broadcaster that can make "Backing it in. Backing it in. Backing it in." sound as good as it used to.

    Joel had been Director of Broadcasting as far back as 2001 when I was working with him at Channel 20. Back then he was only on the business side and was not on air. He's was a fun good guy to work with......was a bit of a locker room setting around him......

    Who knows what happened....maybe his on-air work and Director of Broadcasting work became too much of a package deal and when they felt he failed at one position..it was too much to keep him aboard.

    I know he'll do fine..but he's not going anywhere with his wife Lisa Hernandez having deep roots at Channel 11 and a new child as well. Maybe he can get on with the Astros or Texans.

    Joel was fired for some comments he made to an intern, it was a trumped up deal in order for the Rockets to fire him, they did him dirty.
