I could understand why Democrats would want Trump over Cruz, there's a chance that Trump goes back to his Democrat roots and rules like a liberal would even if he managed to somehow win. With Cruz, there's a MUCH greater chance that he wins and if he does, he won't be a friend to the left.

I can agree with that too. At least not what I consider the true right. Cruz is a very flawed candidate in an election with only very flawed candidates IMO. I think Cruz would be less disastrous than Trump, but I'm certainly not a Cruz supporter.

Cruz is a proven obstructionist that puts ideology above pragmatism, at least under Drumpf business will get done.

Yes, because by any and all means we need to continue business as usual in Washington. Trump would not obstruct the corrupt and "pragmatic" agenda of the donor class in Washington, that Congress is clearly beholden to, because of the money these same donors give to their campaigns. No, he has proudly boasted about how he has been part of this cabal for decades and how he has effectively bribed elected officeholders of both parties to do his bidding. If we want more of that, Trump could hardly be more qualified to lead that effort.

Trump will revel in signing off on almost anything, so that he can take credit for being the "deal-maker". No matter if these are bad deals, because "business will get done," according to you. And that is all that matters.

Our nation is heading down the proverbial commode right before our eyes; and if people like you have their way, that process is certain to not only continue unabated, but to accelerate its pace. But for some reason you and many others who think like you appear to regard that as desirable. How sad for all of you and for us as a nation.

Hmm, the most powerful nation in history, peacefully changing power for 150 years, expanding dignity and respect to more people, leading a change in an energy paradigm, yeah we suck.

What we should be doing is denying voters rights, expanding corporate control over government, intervening in foreign civil wars, limiting religious freedom to one interpretation, upping our domestic gun violence, sticking the next generation with overwhelming debt for their education that won't get them a livable minimum wage, burning as much carbon as we can and arranging it so that people with differing views are not represented.
    ... OK

That depends on what sort of business. There is nothing to indicate that Trump will be able to work with Congress. Insulting members of both parties isn't a way to win favors. Congress also isn't like a board of directors or shareholders they have their own ambitions and as such Trump is going to have a hard time doing just what he does in business with how he treats Congress.

Not forgetting that many of Trump's proposals like building a wall and having Mexico pay for it, blocking all Muslims are completely unrealistic and in the latter would violate the Constitution.

Cruz is a weasel. Siding with the protesters, you got to be kidding me. I lost the little respect I had for him.

I would rather Cruz get the nomination. Only because I think Trump is more dangerous for this country. You don't what a populist right winger getting any kind of traction. They are dangerous - Trump isn't the kind of person who will respect our laws and constitution. It's held up pretty well, but someone like that is a threat. To me, this is a bigger than a republican vs. democrat thing.

Barack Obama has not respected our laws or our constitution, but for some reason you appear to have no problem with that.

I think you missed Cruz's point (and it was a good one):

"In any campaign, responsibility starts at the top," he said. "Any candidate is responsible for the culture of the campaign. When you have a campaign that disrespects the voters. When you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence. When you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord.”

Furthermore, he also went on to say this on this (which is very very well said):

Cruz is making this pivot on protesting just right. It is truly masterful, but we will see if sane statements make a difference to the primary voters. And we may someday see if he means at all what he says here.
