It's bad strategy to mercilessly criticize a candidate you want nominated. You realize that the alternative is Cruz, don't you? I have thought all along that Cruz has no chance, but he's a really smooth guy and Hillary has a lot of vulnerabilities. If you're a democrat, Trump is a far better option than Cruz in the event that Hillary craps the bed. Strategic thinking is a good thing.
In a world where my words and criticism actually mattered to sway American elections, the world would have bigger problems lol. I'm maximizing for truth and amusement. I don't have a dog in the fight. I want Trump to win to break the GOP in half--but I'm perfectly fine if Cruz gets to the general. I'll take odds on both of them against Hill (Trump currently running at -6.3%, Cruz at + 0.8%). Worst comes to worst, I'll just move back to Cruz's homeland. I can't affect anything in this cycle, but I can pick and choose which candidates to lampoon at will, and which ones to highlight to the facts. I do despise Trump's notion of "strength" irrespective of this election cycle and will look to extinguish that thinking in the marketplace of ideas as much as I can.
I disagree. For this night, Trump did nothing wrong. He didn't even appear. You can state that his previous rhetoric caused this, but lets be honest. This was a planned protest by some of the most far left groups in the country in an effort to SHUT DOWN FREE SPEECH. THEY were the problem tonight....not Trump. It was disgusting and so anti-american it's hard to believe these people even realize just how dangerous what they are doing is. America can survive bad leaders. It CAN'T survive the eroding of the 1st Amendment.
This conversation is being held on millions of message boards around the country. Opinions matter more than you think.
It's not about tonight, it's about the things he's been saying and advocating. They are disgusting and people SHOULD be protesting him as a result. Also, before we whine about "free speech", let's remember that the "right" to free speech is really just a right to not have the government interfere. Due to that, no one's "free speech" was "shut down", in fact, Trump didn't have to cancel, he chose to do so because like most authoritarians and bullies, he doesn't like it when people disagree with him. Every time he's faced with opposition, he runs away, this is no different than flaking out on the Fox News GOP debate over one of the moderators. In fact, protesting awful people like Trump is EXACTLY what this country was founded on. In the "old days", they'd hang or burn an effigy of him and run him out of town before vandalizing his house. Maybe the crowd would through rocks and feces at him every time he was spotted in public. That's really some of the most "American" things you can do. The founding fathers would absolutely approve.....and they instigated a LOT of it. As to the eroding of the first amendment, that's exactly what Trump has advocated when he wants to change the libel laws. He's also advocated for torturing and murdering innocent civilians and as listed examples of mass murder as being strong leadership.....while suggesting that he'd be a strong leader. In short, Trump is a monster. A disgusting, anti-American monster and the country can't survive him as president.
Sure, I hope they all talk about the fact there was no credible and specific reports of violence according to two different layers of police. I hope they talk about how Trump is polling -6.3% to Hill while Cruz is polling 0.8%. Mostly, I hope they talk about how Trump is an utter coward according to his own principles. I hope they utterly demolish his notion of fake strength. Trump f**ked up hard in my books when he referred to Tiananmen as a "riot" put down by a strong nation. And that bell will take quite a bit of time to get unrung. If this conversation is happening across millions of forums, I hope those conversations UTTERLY DESTROY the notion that what Trump is doing represents strength. I hope it UTTERLY DESTROYS the notion that China is "strong" for killing unarmed protestors, arresting them to this day, and hiding the truth from its schoolchildren. That, incidentally for those of you throwing around "the biggest threat to America" moniker--is the biggest threat to America. That somebody can utter these ideas and gain support. That is the most anti-American thing I have personally ever heard. but yeah, I hope he still wins the primary because well (I hope they talk about how Trump is polling -6.3% to Hill while Cruz is polling 0.8%.) That's strategic thinking, I suppose.
You do realize this helped trump, right? A lot of conservatives that weren't going to vote for Trump are now jumping ship.
The part that the police threw him on the ground and placed him under arrest after he got sucker punched and just told the guy that threw the punch to simply sit down baffles me. #TRUMPsupporters #imnotracistbut

They probably need to be armed if they are speaking out against Trump, the guy who randomly assaulted that one protester suggested that he would kill the next protester....just your typical Trump supporter.

Why would I? I'm not signing off on 100% of the crowd's actions, I'm merely saying that it's a good thing for Trump to be protested. Honestly if Trump would just go away it would be for the best of the country.
You do realize all this bull**** you wrote is essentially saying anything goes right? I mean what next? Bringing weapons to the next rally? Would that be honoring our American values? Protest is fine. But this was not protest. Actively shouting down a leading candidate for President so he can't speak is not protest. Its censorship. I can't believe you don't understand the difference. Actually, I think you do understand and simply don't care. My God. You actually think the founders...WHO WROTE THE BILL OF RIGHTS... would approve. Astonishing. Go read what I've written about Trump. I am as anti Trump as anyone on here. I've even considered voting 3rd party or Clinton if he's the nominee. But this **** tonight was WRONG. And if you agree with it, you are essentially just as bad as Trump ever was....in essence agreeing with the mans in your own actions and words here. The ends justify the means eh Bobby?
