hey, say what you will about Bernie, but he's not exactly a running threat to shoot unarmed protesters. You're probably right that somebody who thinks Tiananmen is a riot would be okay with that.
If it's discovered that there was violence plotted against Donald Trump and both the Chicago police and university police failed their duties, I will be "malleable" about my opinion. Until then, my opinion on this matter is very simple: Donald Trump is a coward who wouldn't exercise his First Amendment rights while being protected by Secret Service and squads of policemen with no credible threats of violence. He wouldn't survive one second under any form of duress. And he has much less entertainment value when he doesn't speak, as it turns out.
And if he went out there and someone in the crowd got seriously injured, you'd be here condemning him for that decision.
I saw all that. The way Trump talks about his protestors is similar to the way every dictator talks about their protestors. He absolutely disgusts me. And some of his supporters have done some horrible things but going there to fight isn't going to help yourself. What happened in Chicago today was disgusting. After it was cancelled, you had protestors rushing the stage, fighting. I'm sorry but that does not help your cause. It makes you look ugly and it helps the opposition. As for Trump cancelling it, they had intel saying that they had thousands of protestors in the building. Even if the police say they have it under control, it was a risk. And judging by the aftermath, it is obvious that those protestors were there to fight (and the police did not have it under control).

Try not to put words in my mouth. His rallies have gotten people injured, and that hasn't abated his entertainment value for me. I don't think I've ever condemned one of his rallies--I support whenever Trump talks! 110%. I hear right-wing policies crumbling every time he does. You're probably right to say that Trump rallies are a risk to go to, sorta like a roller coaster ride with no safety bar--for protesters. I sympathize with them, but they are taking a risk to express themselves. Which is more than I can say for Trump. I despise the fact that for some reason his repetition of the word "strong" has somehow associated him with the concept. I hope today shows just how cowardly he is. He has a fraction of the courage of protestors who go up against the police and Secret Service that protect him. And he has 1/100th of the courage of any of the citizens of Beijing on that fateful day.
I definitely saw how protesters were handled when they tried to rush Hillary and they rushed Bernie. hint: they weren't shot and killed Of course, this is a hypothetical hypothetical that we'll never know! Because of Trump's cowardice. The fact you have latent fears about your candidate having unarmed protesters shot should tell you something about who you're supporting.
I don't need to put words in your mouth. It is clear as day that you're going to frame Donald Trump in the most negative light possible, regardless of context.
It's pretty hard to believe anything Trump says though. Initially he said that the police told him to cancel or that it would be a good idea to cancel the event, then we find out that's false, now there is talk about how they had "intel" about people rushing the stage. I'm certainly not advocating for violence, but I think people standing up and speaking out against Trump is a good thing. I personally hope thousands and thousands of people show up everywhere he goes and honestly, after tonight, I'm pretty sure that'll happen. Other cities will want to out-do Chicago when it comes to protesting Trump. Trump might be happy about having the support of somewhere around 30-40% of Republicans, but the 60% or so Republicans who are very much against him along with nearly all non-Republican conservatives, moderates, and liberals need to let their voices be heard. Trump is NOT acceptable. He is an embarrassment to the country, and this madness needs to end.
Yeah, the Chicago police and the University police were just trolling too when they said there were no security risks. Trump is just trying to be politically correct. He doesn't want to risk expressing himself behind the Secret Service and police that can "handle any situation". I don't exactly see the hard evidence for protesters causing most of the violence either. The majority of people in the arena were Trump supporters. Seeing as they're a violent bunch already...someone bring me the tape before we say protests turned violent in an inherently violent setup. A propos of nothing, your candidate is a coward and he has small hands. He has small hands. And other things are probably small.
well, he's usually entertainment and a guarantee to a Democrat dynasty. but I'm sorry if facts bother you. there was no credible security threat according to the police. I find it hilarious how this "strongman" can't even speak to Berniebros. How the f**k is he going to deal with ISIS?
i'm sure they do but they can't. look at these protests. they don't become divided in the first place because of trump. the politicians like to say they want to unify people because it's a positive message and it's a politically correct thing to say but nobody has a clue exactly how beyond saying nice things about everyone.
Did you not see the video of the crowd? It would have been irresponsible for him to go out there under those circumstances. You are calling him a coward for not putting the crowd at risk. These "protesters" (they aren't really protesters, they are trespassers) are there to pick fights, in the spirit of anti-violence, somehow. And you equate this to ISIS somehow. These arguments are so weak that they only help Donald Trump.
well, ISIS chops off heads, while Berniebros cause vague threats of storming the stage according to the "Daily Mail" (which apropos of nothing, I'd rather wipe my ass with then read). And I hope he wins the primary! God, I hope he does. The sundering of the Republican Party will be glorious. This nativist base has gotten so toxic even the GOP needs to shed some weight.
It will be interesting to see how this "protest" will affect Tuesday's primaries. Personally, I think this protest might have been the best possible thing for Trumps hopes to wrap up the nomination on Tuesday. Republican voters distrust "Move On", "Black Lives Matter" and "Occupy Wall Street" types and from the looks of it, this protest was held by those groups. And even more striking than that, these groups are suppressing free speech by not allowing Trump to speak. Hell, they might even succeed in making Trump a sympathetic figure...something that would be impossible to envision just 12 hours ago. IMHO, NOTHING will help galvanize and unite the Republican party behind Trump more than what we saw Friday night.
woah snowflake, who is stepping on First Amendment rights now? Did I touch a nerve? are you going to pull a Trump on me? I just want to get maximum entertainment value from Trump and bring facts to the table. Like the fact Trump lied about the police telling him to not go to hide his cowardice.
IMO it'll show Republicans what they have to look forward to if they nominate an authoritarian like Trump for President. There will be protests during the entire national election and it'll lead to a landslide victory for whoever is running against him. I'm sure there are some people that might want to support Trump even more after seeing thousands of people in the streets protesting....but those aren't people that care about winning. It should show the Republicans that if they don't nominate a more acceptable candidate, that they'll be turning the Supreme Court over to the party that birthed "Move On", "Black Lives Matter", and "Occupy Wall Street". The knuckle draggers won't understand that, but I think the majority might start to realize that and pool their support in order to defeat Trump.
