That's ridiculous. Trump doesn't have a history of supporting veterans and as a veteran, I don't support Trump and I don't know very many veterans that do. The whole narrative that Trump supports veterans is based on the debate he punked out on. His excuse was that he had a fund raiser for veterans to go to and the money went to his own foundation. Sure he ended up giving about half of what he raised to the Wounded Warrior Project, but that's an awful organization that wastes a lot of donations on themselves rather than helping veterans as much as they can. Trump never had a history of donating much to veterans groups before that, it's just something that has been made up.

That one black friend if you have one probably makes you think " I'm not racist I have black friends "
Fascist college students protesting a radical authoritarian nationalist otherwise known as a fascist. This is the problem with the anti-intellectualism pushed by the right, they literally don't know what the hell they're saying.
This ranks right up there as one of the worst posts I've ever read. Not just here, but on any website ever.
Trump is fully deserving of being protested, he's an awful person and he's running for the highest office in the land. If anyone was ever going to protest something, that would be a pretty good cause. Maybe you don't like it when people gather like this to protest awful people in power or seeking power, but it's literally what this country was founded on. At least they aren't running him out of town and vandalizing his house as was so popular 250 years ago. We can hope things will be peaceful from here on out, but crowds need to form everywhere Trump goes in protest until the threat of him potentially being president passes.
I hate Trump, I can't stand Trump. He is spreading hatred, he is clearly a sociopath, he is dangerous, he is a buffoon who does not know wtf he is doing. He could potentially harm this country beyond repair. I am really hoping he loses to the point where I would be ok with a psychotic Ted Cruz or a shady Hillary Clinton. I applaud the people who protest him BUT it has to be done peacefully. What was happening out on the streets of Chicago was absolutely disgusting. The thousands of people ready to fight forcing him to cancel his rally only helps him.
I would agree that it should be done peacefully, but the protesters didn't really "force" Trump to cancel, he just weakly chose to do so. The police told him that they had the situation under control and that it wouldn't be a problem and he canceled anyway, probably to look like a martyr. The real problem when protesting Trump is that Trump himself has created an atmosphere where his supporters are already attacking peaceful protesters. Trump's rhetoric is a powerful agent to his brainless followers. Hell you even have Trump's campaign manager out there roughing up reporters. We've already seen what people like this do to peaceful protesters and honestly that's a typical Trump supporter. It's really hard to be peaceful with those kinds of people around.
lol. I wanted Trump to speak because it's usually comedy gold, but some of the tweets today have been on fire.
The Chicago police had no security issues before the rally was cancelled and explicitly said so. That his audience fractured due to his cowardice is a greater indictment of his weakness than anything else.
I am not a Trump supporter. The fact that a major party candidate, this late in the election cycle has to cancel his rally because of credible threats of violence is very concerning to me. If you don't like Trump then vote against him and support other candidates in a variety of other ways. I know very well what Trump is doing, it is a classic way to pander and gain attention and support. He and his close advisory team are not stupid, there is a reason the rally would be at UIC... Let's just say it isn't just luck it would be there. Having said that, we don't need threats of violence against major politicians or at their events... It ultimately leads to nothing good in a stable society.
Obama's nation? Yeah I don't want to hear any **** from Republicans about how Obama didn't bring together or unite Americans.... Not with their top two candidates are purposely running on ripping the USA apart because their political party is seeing the effects of a dying pool of support. Thirty years ago it was clear the number of white people would dwindle as a percentage of the electorate and Republicans did nothing to appeal to any group but whites.
can somebody actually point to specific threats of violence against Donald Trump in Chicago? The closest thing I saw was which makes me think of what BLM did to Bernie.
You do realize if Trump had gone with his rally people would have been killed, right? There were plans to rush the stage and secret service would have shot the person. Trump did the right thing by canceling.
