What's not to get? People don't trust Hillary. Her experience as Secreatry Of State was filled with lies and deception. She is in the pockets of the special interests (most are but Trump whom I could never support is not). I completely understand people whom identify themselves as liberal to vote Trump over Hillary. It really depends on what is most important to you.
I get that people don't like or trust Hillary, but people also don't like or trust Trump. In fact, according to the numbers the only person in this race that is more disliked or distrusted than Hillary is Trump. Again, the logic just doesn't follow.
I would imagine those who distrust Hillary yet trust Trump would be a VERY small group. If trust really matters to you, then you wouldn't support either.
I don't think so, I'm pretty sure that Bernie supporters will happily take Clinton. Not only will Bernie go out of his way to support Clinton but Trump is never going to get past the rampant sexist and xenophobic things he's said with most democratic voters. Most polls show that Trump will lose to either Sanders OR Clinton pretty handily. Sanders supporters do not like Clinton...but they like her a hell of a lot more than Trump. As corrupt as Clinton may be, she's not outwardly sexist or xenophobic. Most of Sanders supporters are progressive, if not all of them. They are about moving forward not backward.
Bobby, I know you would never vote for Trump. I completely understand but Bernie??? You are a very common sense person, how could you ever vote for Bernie the socialist???
I truly feel like Trump would be the worst thing that could possibly happen to this country. I wouldn't normally support Bernie, but when the alternative is Trump, Bernie looks pretty good. Most of what Bernie runs on would never get through congress so I don't feel like he could do much damage. I think Trump could legitimately start WW3. He's not intelligent enough or even keeled enough for the job.
Republicans should vote for Sanders. His wishful thinking and pie-in-the-sky policies are respectable much like his character and even commendable, but his reign would be marked by grid-lock from his own party with no one willing to introduce his agenda to Congress, which would be laughed at and quickly discarded by Republicans controlling both chambers. Sure, there might be a Bernie Bros million-man march outside the Capitol as Bernie promises, but it will do little to usher in a revolution.
What's surprising is how many people claim to be neither Democrat nor Republican; especially how some of those same posters' views clearly show either a liberal, conservative, or just plain bat**** crazy perspective.
I don't have a vote, since I am not a US citizen, so what I say matters very little. But even though I am about as pro free market and stuff as anyone, and therefore have very different economic views than Sanders, if it came down to this choice and I had a vote, I would vote for Sanders - even though you could probably say that I lean towards being conservative. I think Sanders is a good guy at heart, and genuine. Trump, not so much - I consider him dangerous.
Why not Cruz??? I would suggest not voting if it is Sanders vs. Trump or Clinton vs. Trump. Those are lose lose situations. Cruz is light years better than any of those candidates.
The premise was if it ended up Trump vs Sanders. If it ends up Cruz vs Sanders or Cruz vs Hillary then I'll vote Libertarian most likely because Cruz wins Texas easily and I'm not worried about a Cruz presidency like I would be about a Trump presidency. The only way I'm for sure voting Hillary or Sanders is if Trump wins the Republican nomination, I'll feel the need to vote against him and get pretty much anyone else I could to do the same.
Don't gt me wrong, I think Trump would be terrible. I would not vote for him either but Hillary or Bernie would be just as bad or worse. I say don't vote. If the libertarian candidate is pro-life I will vote for them or if not just withhold my vote for President. I will vote for other races.
Since I participated in this year's caucus I'm technically a Dem but most of the time I vote and campaign for the MN Independence party. I caucused for Clinton but if Sanders wins and he faces Trump or Cruz I will campaign for him and donate money to his campaign.
