It is hard to understand that you don't accept the difference between a government and a corporation. Maybe you should go live in a country run by a corporation and only get the services you pay for. Good luck.
Guy all this hate for Bobby ....? Why ? Truly this guy is the best troll on the bbs right now . Just vicious and a true master of Internet argument. The fact that he can have such a high post count on multiple accounts is truly impressive . As for me I just watch the show .
Apologies if this has been posted before, but...damn, how can anyone listen to this guy and take him seriously? Bob Woodward talking to Drumph about Mexico: WOODWARD: I want to ask about the wall you're going to get Mexico to build. We were talking about this earlier and a number of my colleagues here say you really haven't answered the question how you're going to do that. And you know from business somebody can have a good idea but how are they going to do it? And can you give us some idea? DRUMPH: Okay. Great question, Bob. Sure. Okay. Look, the wall. First of all, Mexico is not going to build it, we're going to build it. And it's going to be a serious wall. It's not going to be a toy wall like we have right now where cars and trucks drive over it loaded up with drugs and they sell the drugs in our country and then they go back and, you know, we get the drugs, they get the cash, okay, and that's not going to happen. WOODWARD: Right. How are you going to get them to pay for it? DRUMPH: We're going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay. And the reason they're going to pay and the way they're going to pay, Bob, is this. We have a trade deficit now with Mexico of $58 billion a year. The wall is going to cost $10 billion a year. That's what it's going to cost. It's going to be a powerful wall. It's going to cost $10 billion. Now -- WOODWARD: But they're a sovereign nation. DRUMPH: When you're losing -- or essentially losing -- but when you're losing $58 billion a year on trade -- in addition to that we give subsidies for Mexico. Believe me, I have all the cards. Now will a politician be able to do it? No because they don't know how to negotiate. That's how we have the Iran deal where we give them $150 billion and other things. But for me that's a hundred percent, Bob, and you can hold me to it and you will hold me to it. WOODWARD: Okay, but how do you get a sovereign nation that says they don't want to pay to pay? DRUMPH: Very simple. There are five different ways you can do it. You can do it through not giving them the subsidy that we pay them. You know, we pay Mexico a subsidy. I don't know if you know. But the whole thing is ridiculous. We're paying everybody subsidy. We actually have a small portion of China where they get a subsidy from us because they haven't ended it for years. WOODWARD: Just suppose they won't do it. Would you -- DRUMPH: We pay a subsidy. Money coming over the border, they're -- there are so many ways that Mexico makes money with us, Bob. There are so many different ways, five in particular, that we will take it out of there. WOODWARD: I'm sorry to press on this, but how would you grab that money? If they say no, would you be willing to go to war to make sure we get the money to pay for this wall? DRUMPH: Trust me, Bob. When I rejuvenate our military, Mexico's not going to be playing with us with war, that I can tell you. Mexico is not playing with us with war. Look, I have great relationships with the Mexican people. You've been seeing I'm winning every single poll in these primaries when they go out, when the polls come back in with the Hispanics. I have thousands of Hispanics that work for me and over the years tens of thousands that have worked for me over the years. I will tell you that the problem our country has is that our leaders are so weak -- we have so many ways of getting the money to build the wall. http://www.theyucatantimes.com/2016/03/trump-suggests-war-with-mexico-possible-over-proposed-wall/
I don't think they're really listening. They just hear Murica, great, winning, and they're bamboozled to believe that some golden age that was stolen away from them is just around the corner if only they vote for Trump. The how it all happens is sort of in short supply but it's going to great.
I really don't understand this 'reguvenate our military' rhetoric that Trump is pushing. Are 10 active naval carriers not enough when the military with the second most has 2? Is spending more than the next 14 largest militaries in the world combined not enough? What the **** is he talking about?
I think he means the farm subsidies we give our corn producers here in the U.S. - which allows them to dump their product into Mexico, and drive the price down of their major agricultural cash cow. Since Nafta went into effect, it devastated their local corn industry, and resulted in all of these mexican workers without work. So they came to the U.S. to work for the companies that drove their employers out of business. 95% of agricultural workers in the U.S. are Mexican. Think about that. The problem with free trade is this - it benefits the wealthy only. It generates enormous profits but lowers incomes - that's how it increases profits and wealth - by lowering labor costs. That will all be fine if the money flowed back to the masses, but it doesn't. The flaw in Republican thinking of giving the job creators more money is that they aren't interested in creating jobs, they are interested in eliminating jobs and paying less so they can increase profits even more. And companies simply hold onto that cash and use it to expand operations in markets they are not currently in. So in a sense, our low taxes and free trade agreements are great for people living overseas as it helps creates jobs for them. At some point, you will reach a point where everyone is at parity - and it won't make any sense to employ someone to do a job 5,000 miles away when you can find someone locally. It's at that point, maybe in 50 years, that the standard of living will once again go up for the middle class.
No actual Republican politician is going down on this Titanic of a ticket, so Trump will have to think outside the bun. I'm thinking a Trump/Roof or Trump/Zimmerman ticket would bring out that silent majority.
Wait, is he essentially saying that he'd threaten Mexico militarily when they won't pay for his wall because they're a sovereign nation?
No he's not. He's saying they will pay for it, or if they don't then it will come from earmarked money to mexico. His military comment is implying that they will choose option one if we have a strong military. I disagree with that comment but talk/tactics like that were successful during cold war.
