We need someone to take the top off the defense. Fuller comes to mind, maybe we can get him @ 22. Then I would focus solely on the trenches and the secondary. Draft the best available OL, DL, CB, and S after you have your speedy wideout.
Good to see all the optimism here. I know optimism in offseason doesn't mean much when the games begin but at least it's more fun than being sad, hopeless, and miserable. Things haven't totally gone the way that I would have but no need to bring the mood down. I'm still hopeful things will still work out for the home team. Go Texans!

I like all of this. At least we went for it. All that said, how much is this McNair hoping we catch lightning in a bottle and hit the super bowl on our home turf. Talk about YOLO. the dude is beyond old and what else is there left to shoot for.
holy ish. from having to hunt to feed his family to being tendered so kubiak won't get his paws on him. happy for case.

Guess it depends on what else we want to do. Here are a potential few cap savings... Hoyer - $4.8 Wilfork - $4 Joseph - $3M Shorts - $2.9M Cushing - $2.5M Akeem Dent - $2.1M Hoyer seems to be a no brainer, don't see much need for Dent at $2.1M either.
Things I know: 1) the RB situation was garbage last year..bottom 5 from a potential perspective, aside from Arian's 4 games. It's now firmly average, with significant upside. 2) the QB situation was garbage last year..bottom 5 certainly. It's now firmly average, with upside. With those 2 known changes at extremely key offensive positions on a defense-first team that won 9 games, yeah, I'm optimistic. 3) Brooks for Allen. Most likely a slight downgrade, with a fair amount of downside, and minimal upside (upside would be if it was a wash). 4) Lack of cohesion amongst the OL. Frankly, I'm more worried about this than #3. We need the group to come together, and quickly. But I do think having Miller instead of Blue back there will help. As will having a potent pass attack (in theory). Duane / XSF / average C / Allen / Newton with Clark as a swing T still is pretty close to Duane / XSF / Jones / Brooks / Newton with Clark as a swing T I think we're overreacting a bit b/c Brooks was the team's most significant FA
what do y'all think happens with Andre? I'd love to take him back in Houston. Is there 0% chance of that coming to fruition? Would be an ideal #2 next to Hop.

Agreed on Dent. I also feel like Shorts is expendable. We don't have ANY depth at wide receiver, but I feel like we could get more production from a draft pick and/or veteran free agent. Those three would give us an additional $9.8 million. 42 -31.5 (Brock, Miller, & Allen) + 9.8 ---------------- $20.3 That's not too bad at all. I feel like we could sign a free agent veternal OL and WR with that money and still have a good chunk left. Louis Vasquez and Jermaine Kearse?
