If only one existed in this draft. The best TE in this draft isn't worth a 1st rounder, and the talent level drops off pretty sharply after him.
It's crazy to think that we actually have a pretty damn good team and that's not counting the draft. I feel great for the guys in the locker room who now have a guy they can back at the QB position. I bet Nuke is ecstatic and this could lure other FA (who are cut) and so on. This is a game changer.
Texans need to go heavy with OL in the draft...we have a QB and a RB...nothing more important now than building a line that can win the LOS battle consistently.
Underrated in all of this is that the Texans just got YOUNG and FAST.....2 things we've seemingly never had. For better or for worse, the Texans just dove head first into the deep end of the pool. I can't wait to see if they sink or swim.
Palillo was on the radio yesterday asking if there was a starting QB/RB tandem in the league worse than the Texans (Hoyer/Blue). It was a good question. I couldn't think of one and neither could any of the callers. Looks like that might have been taken care of today.
he's a fine blocker. He's just not the answer as a TE1 that he was supposed to be, and it took forever to evaluate him and figure it out.
I remember fans here were saying he was going to be the next rob gronkowski lol. I am convinced that fans compared him to gronk because they have similar sounding last names.
Good post. Agree. This was all out yolo move. All these years of mediocrity, I don't care for doing this. I'm excited. Draft a O line. Get better receivers. Team may surprise ppl.
We definitely need to add some additional help at WR. Too many injuries last year amd when healthy still no threat opposite Hopkins.
Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of drafting him with the first pick in the 3rd round a couple years back.

Can't we get another 4.5 by cutting Hoyer? Are there any other vets we would consider cutting (Joseph and Wilfork come to mind but are all we have at NT and CB1)? How much more cap space do we conceivably need?
