2016 Spring Training

If you focus on velocity, though, you have the best chance of keeping signal separated from noise. You have a decent chance of not being deceived, and with all this in mind, I’ve already seen one particularly encouraging note. When the Astros signed Doug Fister, he was something of a reclamation project. He might already be most of the way fixed.

However, be forewarned for the Drellich haters that the writer says the following along with some other complimentary terms in regards to being able to gather information from his articles/tweets:

I'd venture to say White is our opening day 1B.

 

or Duffy..he's looking good so far. Though a small sample size, Singleton's average is already in his comfort zone <.200

 

He has made three somewhat difficult plays already today. One on a pop up on the mound, a short hop on a chopper and on a high throw after a nice play by Marwin.

I think Duffy is the leader.

One guy thing for sure is, Singleton would need a massive turnaround to claim the job.

 

And a timely RBi with two strikes.

 

A could be tough luck out ends up as a good luck double.

 

Correa just drilled that one. 405 on a rope.

 

Good lord did Morgan Ensberg let himself go.

 

haha, i wouldn't go that far. looks like he's been pounding down some cold ones and enjoying himself though.

 

He is going to be on his comfortable couch soon if things dont change in a hurry.

...AND, he doesnt have much time to do it. Maybe a week? Two?

 

So far Straily and Singleton are making the case for not making the team. The way White and Duffy are playing makes Singleton an obvious option to start the year at Triple A.

 

yup. now two bad outings from Straily. He's out of options so he'll be released. Singleton, smh, at least we can keep overpaying him to perform in AAA. Maybe some team will want to trade for him if he keeps raking (as he does ) in the minors (fingers crossed!))

 

White is ready. Stoked about this kid.

 

Someone needs to be held accountable for these 2 losses, unbelievable.
