In all seriousness though, we all know what Dmo can do in the regular season. Will be a big weapon to have when the game slows down in the playoffs. As true Rockets fans, lets just hope he makes it there healthy.
DMo's been playing like crap. He doesn't look like the player he was last year at all, but some people are so emotionally invested in his return that they will say he's a net positive on the court no matter what. These are the same people who say Harden is fools gold.
Snow we got to get their first. We are barely hanging on to that 8 spot. Out of all the playoffs teams we have the toughest schedule. So as a real Rockets fan, let's hope we make the playoffs first. And hopefully we could string together a nice winning streak that would pit us in that 5th or 6th seed.
So . . What is our expectations of DMo by seasons End Let's sat his last five games 30 Minutes? 16 Pts? 8 Rebs? 2 Asst? .5 Blks? .5 Stls? 2 To? What? Rocket River
I'm a fan of DMo and it would be great if he could average 30mpg, 14ppg (50% FG, 36% 3PT), 6rpg, 2apg, .5 bpg, .7 spg for these last 19 games.
Objectively, DMo has not been playing well since he has returned. Game seems a bit fast for him and his touch isn't there. Yet. He still makes the smart pass and knows where to be on the floor. Our only chance of doing anything significant this year is getting him back to last year's form. No one else on this roster can play PF anyways. Give DMo 20-25 minutes a game and hope that he gets it together. Hopefully we see some significant progress in the next few weeks
Agreed, he hasn't been playing well by his standards and his conditioning is nowhere near where it needs to be.....but like you said, PF is a weak link, compared to the other guys on the roster, even at 50% or whatever, he's LaMarcus Aldridge. Hopefully before the end of the season he'll be in mid-season form but even now he's giving us more than we got from Smith or Jones.
Maybe it's because bball doesn't agree with me, but I think Ariza is our best PF option right now, not DMo or Harrell
I would like to see a lineup of Harden, Ariza, Beasley, Dmo and Dwight at one point before the end of the regular season.
It's very possible that basketball doesn't agree with you, because if it did, you'd know that Ariza isn't a PF. Sure the Rockets like small ball where they go without a PF, but that doesn't make Ariza a PF.
Modern NBA is positionless. Heypartner is right, Ariza is the best guy we have at that spot. Motiejunas just doesn't bring much at this point.
Pretty much par for the course from that poster. If he said something that made sense and was accurate then I'm sure everyone would be shocked.
In the 157 minutes played, a line up of Beverley-Ariza-Dwight-James-Brewer is being outscored by 2.0 points. On the flip side in 82.57 minutes played(whole season of Dmo), a line up of Motiejunas-Ariza-Howard-Harden-Beverley is being outscored by 12.2 points. Truth is that the Rockets don't have a capable power forward. Ariza shouldn't be our 4, but at the moment he is our best bet at that position because all the other options simply don't work.
You guys got me. Dmo's absurdly high turnover rate and absurdly low rebound rate are sorely missed right now. He has been awful everywhere.
