Im glad we didnt resign Jones. I did not think he was a good center, at all. Brooks, on the other hand, we HAVE to resign. He would be a huge loss.

It's the opposite. NFL contracts are all about the guaranteed money and that's it. Years mean nothing.
Usually, more years = more guaranteed money. Why get a 2 year 36 million with 26 million guaranteed when you could get a 4 year 64 million with 50 guaranteed. It's less money per year but because it is more years, the guaranteed money goes up.
