John McClain: I think they'll keep Hoyer until they can trade him. When QBs get hurt in camp, why not offer a player who had 19 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in his best season as a starter? I think Miller or Martin would be ideal. Miller is younger and faster. Remember, he wouldn't have to touch the ball 25 times a game because Blue comes off the bench. OB also likes Grimes. We all want to see what Hunt can do with an offseason under his belt. Yes, I think Miller is realistic. I think they're interested in Ivory if they can't get Miller or Martin. I can see Iloka. He would be ideal, but there's only so much money to go around. They need offense over defense. (WR Benjamin) FA WRs usually don't pan out. They're interested and it would be a good spot for him because he can return, but they won't break the bank. I think Savage will be the starter on opening day unless they sign Osweiler. I still believe he stays with Denver. (Osweiler offer)Denver 3 years at 39 maxed out to 45. I believe the Broncos will get to 15 a year. Agent wants Bradford money -- 18 a year. (Andre Johnson return) No way. That ship has sailed. He needs to call the Patriots and offer to play for the minimum. (Bringing in another/"better" kicker) They're bringing back Novak, but I imagine there will be some competition from an undrafted rookie. (Fitzpatrick return) That ship is sailing right next to Andre's and Mario's -- right out of town. (Signing Osweiler and drafting Hack in the 2nd) Nope. They would have Savage as their primary backup. If you spend a fortune on a veteran QB who's 25, you don't waste a pick on another one. (Signing Osweiler and taking Lynch if he fell to 22) No way you have two like that when you already have Savage. They're excited to see what he can do in his third season. (Chris Ivory) I think he's the third choice behind Miller and Martin. Wouldn't cost as much. I do believe they'll sign a veteran so they won't have the need in the draft. (So where do you see Hoyer? 3rd string and Savage moves to 2nd?) Yep. (Do you like pancakes?) Of course. I hear that's one of my nicknames online. I love it. (RB) Miller, Martin, Ivory in that order. (OT) I see an OT as high as the second or as low as the third. (TE) Not a priority like the other positions. (How serious was Peyton Manninng about wanting to play in Houston a few years ago? Or was it all just rumors) The Texans were one of his teams. Kubiak was loyal to Schaub, who was coming off an 8-3 season and a foot injury. Texans went 12-4 and beat Denver and Manning in his first season with the Broncos. Then, of course, the bottom fell out.

Come on! What could possibly go wrong with trying to spend huge chunks of money on a QB and RB and letting the offensive line leave.... There is the DRAFT man, teams regularly rebuild their line with 22 year olds that immediately work well as a unit and protect the QB and RB.
I have been worriedly thinking this for a while...could be Savage, Yates, rookie, and either Hoyer or an equivalent FA going into camp.
Texans get Osweiler and Lamar Miller. Houston media talks Super Bowl and fans buy XXXL Osweiler jerseys at a record pace. Lamar Miller rushes for 800 yards with an average of 3.4 yards a carry. Brock Osweiler is benched three times and leads the NFL in interceptions. The Texans go 6-10 or 7-9. Next off season the Texans release Osweiler and Miller and sign several offensive linemen. The process repeats...... and McNair makes more money and Smith buys more cuff links.

I could end up looking like a fool for saying this, but if the Texans are relying on Savage to be a good starting QB than they are even more stupid than... I don't know how to finish that sentence. I mean I'd take Savage over Hoyer, but that's not saying much.
That's what is sad, while it would be stupid to rely on Savage, he'd still be better than Hoyer who is the guy they wanted to go with last year.
