Ive given DMo a ton of credit for good team defense, but he has been leaving shooters open. We've been lucky not to get burned every time, but Donatas needs to be sharper on his defensive rotations. That being said, he is light years ahead of Jones and Smith at the 4 for this team.

Sometimes I wish that Josh Smith and DMo get a run of PT together. Something tells me that they would have more chemistry playing on the offensive side...DMo is so unselfish, that sometimes I wish he looks for his shot more... Him attacking the rim really puts tremendous stress on a defense to secure the board...or risk having Howard, Smith, Harrell, or Capela clean up an easy miss.

    He's definitely struggling.

    Next man up: Beasley.

The great Dmo had 4 points 4 rebounds and 1 assist in 20+ minutes.

Damn good game by the youngster

Actually DMo was pretty much the only guy rotating off to cover people in the first half, and it was leaving Scola to be picked up by the other big that was supposed to rotate, but never did.

Many possessions where he should have helped, but didn't. Many possessions where he was helping too much leaving his man open. He's not in good shape, just be objective.

at least this year we may be able to see dmo at the playoffs finally. That will tell a lot about him.
I expect by then to be much more back than right now. Almost 100%.

Both of these points are so true. It's gonna take him a while.

DMo has consistently been an eye sore in the box score with his really bad +/-. He's obviously not to form of last year.

Beasley, Smith, and KJ getting zero minutes is baffling.

Yeah... DMo still seems really out of shape. Both game shape and conditioning. Nothing against him though, the talent is there, but he'll just need more time to get back where he was in 2014-15 season. And the best way to do it is through playing a lot of basketball.

And also this is why I would like DMo to represent Lithuania in the Olympics this year. Basically, if his back is bad then it's just bad and some games in the Olympics won't change that, but if his back is ok then he'll get some extra minutes against top level competition against the best talent in the world and be more ready for the next regular season.

If I'm DMO and the Union I go all in on with a full fledged grievance against Detroit. It was bush league in what they did to DMO and the Rockets.

Lol it's great. My generation in a nutshell: if you like what I'm doing, you're cool, if you don't, you're a hater.

The internet circle jerking has completely enabled those who would normally be denounced as village idiots.

I actually agree with this DD. People are thinking D-Mo was off his man because he kept on chasing shooters, but the fact is he was essentially covering 2 guys in that situation because Dwight Howard REFUSED to switch on anything.

I consider myself a Dwight defender, but that might have been the worst Dwight Howard defensive performance I've seen in his career. Completely disinterested, not getting back in transition, and refusing to rotate under any circumstance.

I'll have to watch for it more than I have been because if Dwight has been this bad all season, and I haven't been catching it or paying attention, we could be looking at the main philosophical malfunction of our defense. We have a defense that philosophically is a "switch everything/Position-less" defense, but we have the last line of defense refusing to play that style.

At least last night, I was seeing D-Mo trying to cover the players on the wings that Dwight was supposed to be switching on.

Dmo is a team player period. all out 100 percent when hes out there.
Dwight in these last 2 games has played IMO the worst 2 basketball games in a rockets uniform.
His head isnt there, the effort is here, there is something going on, because this dumb fool is playing for his last big contract. He doesent look injured, is he just plain dumb as rocks? maybe

He is focusing on getting his stats, over team success - he pushes his own guys out to get a rebound, but doesn't run back on defense or on offense either. He is doing just enough to get a double double...so the next sucker that takes him will feel they are getting a 20-10 guy....

He has quit overall- look how much better the team flows when he is out.

DMO is doubling at times when he shouldn't DD and it's more about coaching than his own decision making. He's rusty as any objective fan knows, but you've got to know the other teams personnel and your own teams personnel. He got pulled against the Bulls when he left Mirotic open in the corner for a wide open 3 while hedging to help inside. The coaching is horrendous.
