I'm seeing several mixed reactions from people here, and it was the same mixed reactions with the possibility of Manning possibly coming to the Texans a few years back. I'm almost seeing the same exact replies. Replies with Manning: "Yeah, but can he throw? Let me know and get back to me." Replies with RG3: "Yeah, but he ain't an NFL QB." Both are coming off a year off from throwing a football. Yes, I know Manning had a monstrous resume compared to RG3, but let's not act like RG3 didn't have a great rookie season. My point is, I've seen this movie once before and don't want the Texans to let this opportunity go. Get him here and see if it works out AND draft a QB in the draft. You're basically getting him for free, but the pros far outweigh the cons. Manning at the time was like what? 35-36 while RG3 is still pretty young at 26. Texans fans thought Manning in Kubiak's system would be a terrible addition, and I'm seeing the same exact replies. "Texans need a pocket passer, RG3 is literally made of glass". tl;dr: Just do it. Get RG3 here. I saw the same exact criticism with Manning possibly coming here years back. After what I witnessed with Hoyer, I'll look at ANYTHING.
Take this with a huge boulder of salt. http://www.inquisitr.com/2859847/nfl-rumors-houston-texans-acquiring-robert-griffin-iii/ LOL. Its Happening!?
Manning was a much greater risk. With Manning he was coming off multiple surgeries to his neck and he physically couldn't throw a ball in the months leading up to when the Texans would have to make a decision to give him tens of millions of dollars guaranteed. With RG3, the contract will be much smaller and thus the risk is much less. If he sucks, roll with Savage or a QB that is drafted....hell, cut him if he sucks.
This is not a big surprise, but I met RG3 yesterday in a club in Houston. He said he'd love to come to the Texans.
I was walking my dog yesterday and ran into RG3, I said hi and he said hi back with a smile. Hi starts with H. H stands for Houston. It must mean it's happening. He's coming to the Texans! Book it!
A marriage between Robert Griffin III and the Houston Texans seem like a perfect fit on paper. The franchise was able to contend without having an NFL quality quarterback, while the former Texas A&M Aggies star is looking for a second chance in football. Good to know.
Meh Manning just dialed up human growth hormone treatment after the surgeries and all was good. I doubt RG3 has that kind of dedication and it won't help him see the field.
Yeah and Ed Reed was not on the Ravens defense back when they won in with Dilfer. Sounds like some **** Pancakes wrote
I'd be perfectly happy to have RG3 here, as long as we also draft a QB. I can't Hoyer anymore. Just keep RG3 and Clowney away from each other. Those two could bump into each other and break bones.
My friend took a photo with him on Facebook and said he'd love to be a Dallas Cowboy. I don't think he's holding all the cards regarding where he'll play next year.
Right after he said that Matt Schaub was his favorite QB of all time and he couldn't wait to follow in his footsteps.
Just a running ran into him at the bar theme (didn' t really say that). Getting RG just for the sake of saying we went out and acquired a qb is disturbing, he is not going to take this team to the next level.
