I think it absolutely mattered - the only end result that matters is a "W". He did more things that dont show up on the box score in his limited playing time (while trying to get into game shape) than TJones or JSmith would have done. His overall defense and PnR defense was better last night than what we've seen all year from Jones or Smith. His ability to space the floor and actually make shots made a huge difference to create space for Harden. His ability to actually create plays from the post makes a huge difference. It doesn't take 20+ games to get into shape. They play almost every other night - if he can consistently get 20-25 mins/game, IMO, he may not need more than 5-7 games to get acclimated - as long as he doesnt have any setbacks with his back. Come playoff time, i think he'll be more than just an "x-factor".
I'm not a big fan of Donatas, but he never gives up, unlike other players on the roster. That's something this team needed badly.
And it's just as true today as it was the first time I said it. Should people not say "Harden had a good game" ever again simply because it has been said in the past?
7points 3reb 22mins And many thinks he's an allstar the way he he's hyped up around here. I can name a handful of players who gone back from injuries and get buckets so save me that excuse. But I'll name one (PARSONS) 28 points last night. He does this plenty of times. If DMO scores over 20points 6 reb people will go crazy with the gas around here, I don't see it happening soon
A few on here idolize Dmo big time Play07. They can't help themselves. The only thing he did great last night was show great energy. He was hustling his butt off.
He's not really looking for his shot right now. If they were to call his number to do work on the post. He could average 16-18 easily. Imagine if he were getting as many post plays drawn for him as D12?
I don't really know what point you're trying to make or what your argument is, but you're comparing a team's Top 2/Top 3 player to a team's ROLE player. Parsons, coming off of knee surgery, in the 1st month of the season: 21 mpg, 8.1ppg, 2.8 rpg. He's been playing all year so i think it would be safe to say that he'd be playing BETTER near the end of the year. Comparing Parsons play near the end of the season to D-Mo's 16 games total, or his 1st start of the season hurts whatever case you're trying to make against DMo. D-Mo's role is playing solid defense, high pick n roll, knock down occasional 3's, post up occasionally. D-Mo is far from an all-star, but this team plays better with him because of the things he does that don't show up on the box score.
What? I can't speak for everyone, but I have said he is a SUPER role player - and that is exactly what he is, and is proving to be a guy that helps make the entire team better. DD
You cant seriously expect a player coming back from being out this long after such a serious surgery and instantly start producing. Wheres the patience? So far Dmo looks great to me.
It was hilarious when DMo had a successful post up and the next possession they went to post up Dwight, even though DMo was in the post asking for ball. What's the logic here? You can't give DMo 2 post ups in a row, because he's not a cornerstone?
Dmo brings more positives than negative to the team. Kind of like Scola. Scola was a terrible defender but good scorer and rebounder.
Fouled too much, but also because of Dwight and our guards inability to feed him he didn't get a chance to get going.
