Well, we're in mid season form with the longballs.

Haha seems like a regular game. The players look relaxed.

I honestly had no clue who Cesar Valdez was until 5 minutes ago.

I love how they just chalk it up to him being "extremely aggressive", and just completely overlook the fact that he may just lack brains and all spacial recognition capabilities.

Yes, Pettis made a mistake but we scored. Singleton continues to work the count, but another K looking.

    Not looking good at all.

Correa's plate discipline is so good that sometimes he'll have a strikeout looking. And that's ok, considering how the majority of the time it ends up being a favorable count/situation for him.

In his defense, I think that has to be an order from the front office to be extremely aggro with the sends. I mean, if he's getting this many people thrown out on his own, surely they would have put a stop to it.

to some extent, yeah, but surely there has to be a limit. like 0 outs in the 5th inning, where the ball is hitting the cutoff man right as the runner is rounding third.

Poor Brownie. I don't know if it's age or him doing that, but those voice cracks are signs that's it's almost time for him to hang it up.

That was a great play, second in two games.

So Homeruns don't seem like they're gonna be a problem this year again with this squad.

That's always been my take, as well. They must favor the idea of putting pressure on fielders to make plays. But surely, for a progressively smart team, who likely understands that successful steals - not the mere act of stealing - is what makes the steal such a weapon, they can't be oblivious to the danger of sending *everybody.*, right?

    Wandy, man.

Loved him while he was here. Always got dogged on for not being a #1, but the guy can pitch. I wouldn't mind having him in a long relief role.

I feel like he could see be a decent #3 for some squads.

There has to be some metric that showed them the success/failure rates of relay throws with certain catchers... Or simply the success/failure of close plays at the plate.

Today's play would be the perfect example of why to always be aggressive... Even with a perfect field, perfect throw, perfect relay, and perfect throw home... The runner was still safe due to the catcher mishandling the ball.

I did see them get less aggressive as the season went on... Perhaps they're back in experimentation mode for ST.
