Or look at Straight Talk. I'm getting 5 GB of data for $45 a month plus it works on all AT&T and T-Mobile towers. Switched last year from AT&T and I have not noticed anything different.

anybody have MetroPCS and what's your experience inside Toyota Center?

I have Cricket and data service is terrible inside the arena during the game. Verizon has been the best service I've had inside the TC but I'm doing the prepaid service and paying full price for devices, currently using my Nexus 6P

I had T-Mobile before AT&T and it sucked. If I left town on roadtrips, I would lose signal between cities. I would also have crappy reception when I went into buildings. Of course I was on T-Mobile about 7 or 8 years ago, and I know they say they've improved their reception, but my first priority is good reception because there are a lot of times I'm not in major metro areas. I'm willing to pay a bit more for that.

I've had mine since last Wednesday through Tmobile.

Pretty underwhemlmed so far, but I upgraded from the s6 Edge.

Overheats quite a bit, zoom in the camera not as good, but low light camera is excellent as promised, video not nearly as good as s6.

Battery life not as good as I expected by far.

Selling point was water resistance and the package deal. I can sell off the Samsung VR Gear and save a few bucks on the Netflix deal....also lower payment on the payment plan.

I gave up on Samsung after the S6. Touchwiz and battery life will never properly mix (even with their changes to reduce Touchwiz bloat)

I'm sure the overheating stuff will get fixed with software updates. I have a Nexus 6 which was awful on release but is smooth as butter now. It just took Google a while to fix things. I imagine Samsung has to go through the same growing pains (especially with the switch back to Qualcomm).

My biggest question is reception. I found the S6 to be Samsung's best release ever in terms of cellular reception. With the change back to a Qualcomm modem, I'm curious if reception took a step back. On the brightside, now that the S7 is using a snapdragon processor, I imagine rooting and flashing other ROMs will become a thing again (assuming TMobile continued its long running policy of selling phones with unlocked bootloaders)

I really loved my S6 edge. If it had been water resistant, I would still be with it. I think I'll get used the 7, and I really hope they get it straightened out soon. It came preloaded with Marshmallow 6.0.1, so unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the next update will be a ways off.

My GF jumped from the s5, so I'm sure her reaction is going to be completely different than mine.

I have an HTC Evo that is like 3 years old. I dropped it and cracked the screen this weekend, but I have the insurance. What is the latest and greatest Android I should get?

Google Fi just opened up their service to everyone, no invite needed. The price for their plan is $20 for unlimited talk and text, then $10/gb of data. The best part is that you get a credit back for data that you don't use. So if you use 500mb of data month, you'll pay $30, then get get $5 credited back to you. Reception should be great with a combination of Spint and T-Mobile coverage. It'll use whatever is better. Great deal for people that don't use much data.

Currently, there is a promotion for google fi and the Nexus 5x. You can get a 16gb Nexus 5x for $199 or 32gb for $249 if you sign up for at least 1 month of google fi.

Understandable. Tmobile's coverage has improved a lot in recent years, especially if you have a phone that's band 12 with VoLTE. However, Verizon still the best coverage afaik.

My gf is wanting to switch from Iphone to android. She is thinking S7. I like my S6 but I told her not to get that one. She used to love her Iphone but got sick of having to ask me to use my phone to take the pictures since the quality is so much better. I wanted her to preorder so I could get a newer Gear VR. I love that thing. Just wish it did not overheat the phone so quickly.

The S6 and S7 cameras are nice but I dont consider them leaps and bounds above the iphone 6/6s. Samsung arguably does a better job of post processing to saturate the colors in a way that's pleasing even if it slightly distorts real colors. The iphone is still a damn good camera.

If she really wants a good camera, I'd consider the LG G5 that came out. It looks like they're the first company to finally implement two lenses properly. LG has always had great optics but the second wide angle lens to me is an awesome feature on top of everything else. I personally don't like LG's UI (but I also dont like Touchwiz) but LG appears at least on the surface to have created the best camera experience.

After disabling a lot of bloatware and setting most apps to power saver, I think I may have gotten the heating issue under control. I've brought down RAM consumption to 51% where before it was sitting at around 70% used. Battery seems to be lasting a bit longer, but heating is way down.

The s6 Edge camera and video is leaps and bounds better than the iphone 6 imo...iphone 6 owners in my circle were in awe of it...literally.

The s7 is still good, but not like the s6, or maybe I just haven't used it enough to see the difference.

Its a shame the S7 is not notably better than the S6. As long as reception isnt an issue, I'll be satisfied.

I was a bit skeptical since Samsung was giving away VR Gear (and Gear S2 to Verizon customers). If it wasn't for that and Verizon willing to buy back my S6 for $300, I would certainly pass on the S7.

I disagree. The S7 camera has two things on the iphone 6. One it has OIS (which is on the iphone 6 plus, just not the 6) which does help for video and lowlight, second they have higher aperture (f1.9 on the s6 and 1.7 on the s7) and lastly they saturate the colors in photos in a way that pleases the eye. I can't blame them for the later, its actually what people visually enjoy seeing even if the colors end up slightly cartoonish in some instances.

I agree Samsung is the best in the business when it comes to cameras. I just dont think the gap is actually is large as some make it out to be. I've used both extensively. The iphone has a great sensor. I also think that comparing phones on a desktop rather than the phones themselves makes a huge difference. The S6 and S7 has the best screen in the business with its Quad HD AMOLED panels. The iphone retina displays are frankly nowhere near Samsung's and if you compare anything while using those screens, Samsung will look ten times better.

I'm not disagreeing on all the technical data. It's just my opinion from what I see and how those in my circle react. My gf and I are the only Galaxy s users, and everyone else uses iphones, from doctors to techs. My Edge was always the "go to" phone for pictures.

You can't really lose either way.

Yeah I saw that. I am realllllly tempted! currently paying $190/mo for mine and my son's phone. This would save a TON of $$.

Yea it's a super good deal. $190/mo is crazy! Are you and your son super heavy data user?

If you're not, then the Project Fi plan will work great. If so, you can move to t-mobile after a month of Project Fi. Two lines of unlimited talk, text, and data is only $120+tax and fees.

If you don't get good tmobile reception where you are, you can always take the Nexus 5x and use it on Sprint, Verizon, or AT&T.
