This illustrates the place that Republicans have sank...

And this guy is now saying the GOP may need to support Cruz for President... LOL.

I found it pensive that Cruz chose to have his election day celebration at "The Redneck Country Club".

Definitely sounds like the type of guy who can unite this country. Onward to Victory!

I mean it's a great venue and all but seriously people who have never been to Stafford, TX probably wouldn't understand that. Idk wtf the campaign was thinking, it's a bad look.

That is what Graham gets for indiscriminately spewing lies and crap. Now he has made himself look like a bit of a fool. In any case, his putrid brand of politics is being thoroughly repudiated, which is obviously upsetting for him and the rest of the Republican establishment. Graham is still apparently in shock that his presidential bid, together with the politics and the policy positions that go along with that, were not only rejected, but really not even taken seriously by Republican voters.

I think Cruz would like to be able to tone it down a notch, but he really cannot do that right now with Trump holding a comfortable plurality of the vote, and with the Republican field being as divided and splintered as it is. Cruz is in second place, but with the momentum that Trump has, Cruz is still hanging on for dear life at the same time, doing literally everything that he can to hang on as the Republican field consolidates.

If the Republicans follow Graham's suggestion and get behind Cruz, then Cruz will be able to moderate his tone a good bit, which is what he will need to do to be competitive in a general election contest anyway. But again, that will have to include getting Rubio and Kasich out of the race and having the Republicans in Congress actively support Cruz in his battle against Trump.

Of course we will see if this actually happens or not. Graham is right that this is what it has come down to. It is either:

    1) Back Cruz
    2) Corruptly steal the nomination by cheating the nominating process
    3) Accept Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for President of the United States.

If they are smart, Republican party leaders will go with option #1, as it their best alternative. And if the Republicans decide to do this, then you will all be well advised to watch out!

Lindsey Graham is kind of free spirit when it comes to interviews and commentary. I would never put anything past him regarding what he may or not say. He also has an incredibly strong distaste for Donald Trump and the most important issue to him is war...er...national security.

If the Bushes, Bob Dole, Romney, etc. start supporting Cruz I will be absolutely floored.

Cruz is no the only chance to beat Trump. Of course that leaves him with basically no chance at all. It was already an uphill battle, and now it's more or less impossible.

Sanders has a far better chance of coming back and overtaking Hillary than Cruz does to beat Trump. That's true no matter who drops out of the race today.

So, will they, and also Lindsey Graham, I am sure.

However, the alternative appears to be Donald Trump. So, which would they prefer? We are to the point now where they actually are going to have to answer that question, as the failure to answer is as good as an endorsement of Trump at this point.

The alternative is to recognize as a party that you have two losers as your potential nominees, disavow either one and work to keep your governor chairs, house seats and senate seats by untangling yourself from the top of the ticket as best as possible. I don't know that it can work, but it's a strategy.

Many of them may even get behind a Bloomberg run.

    Here's a bomshell scenario:
Clinton vs Bloomberg vs Trump vs Cruz in a national race with TWO "third party" candidates running.

    Yeah, right.

In which case, Jesse Ventura is also apparently getting in:

Jesse Ventura Says He Might Run For President If Bernie Sanders Isn't Nominated

Which would mean THREE third party candidates. Of course what is more likely still is that there are zero third party candidates.

There is zero probability of that, the Libertarians will have a candidate at the very least.

Are you kidding? Cruz probably picked the place for the name alone! It reinforces his brand.

He picked it because of Michael Berry.

Or because Michael Berry has been a strong support of him.

Compared to Cruz and Trump, Lindsey Graham is James Madison.

What moves are left? Seriously, Cruz's day came and went with him burning in his own southern firewall. Why do his supporters keep insisting the GOP needs to rally around him? What amount of endorsements or money will make him palatable to voters in the Midwest and coastal regions from hereon? Can he nab Florida or Ohio or Michigan or Illinois? The answer is a resounding NO. Cruz dug is own political grave in the U.S. Senate and build his tombstone out of Southern Evangelical stone which crushed him last night. Now, he's just gasping for air and sucking the oxygen away from the other Republicans on life-support just like him.

Wouldn't the republicans be best off staying in the race.

The proportional method is keeping the delegate count down.

Winner take all states won't be enough for Trump to get there.

I doubt he reaches the delegate count before the convention.

Why do you think they've all vowed to stay in the race.

Even Ben Carson has said he won't drop out.
