Because James is not a good bench cheerleader. Ty need support from all over place to be a good performer on the basketball court.
C'mon KlutchQT. You're better than this. You should know the Clutchfans mantra of 2015-2016. Everything is James Harden's fault.
It was worth a shot. The Rockets had very limited options to add, and they gave up relatively little.
And to think some of you wanted to give two first rounders for Lawson with his salary guaranteed for next season. :eek
lawson is not the problem, i think Tjones and Brewer needs to go also, we need to get rid of all these guys
Was putting up nice stats in Denver. He was a low risk, high reward player. We all knew that when Morey acquired him. Sucks it didn't work out. Oh well, best of luck to him.
So what do you see happening with the Rockets? Someone in the Mavericks front office thinks that there will be a lot of activity this off season, in part caused by the increased cap.... listed Griffin, Rose, Harden, Howard, DeRozan, Anthony, Lopez, Knight, Bledsoe, Anderson, Gasol, Drummond, Monroe, Love, Holiday, Horford, Conley, Dragic, Whiteside, Rubio and Korver all could be in play.
The Rockets as a management failed on Ty. Then Ty proceeded to fail himself. When given a reprieve in his basketball career, Ty Lawson essentially became a shell of his former self. Why? Because he could not stand up to pressure from within. He was gift wrapped an opportunity to start along side James Harden and Dwight...yet forgot how to play the game of basketball. He eventually fell mute and was unable to assert himself as one of the games premium ball handlers. I really cant believe that this was the same guy that carried Denver...only to revert to being a bonafide scrub. The Rockets coaching staff failed him...immensely. They forgot that the best opportunity for the Rockets to thrive stemmed from having James Harden become less reliant on having to make plays for everyone else on the team. Rather they have coddled and catered to James and neglected the rest of the team. Lawson forever was caught in a quandary on when to take shots and when to facilitate. He completely abandoned his best part of his game...the midrange jumper. And as a result of trying to please the team and eliminate the shot the Rockets really dont like, Lawson ended up NOT being able to shoot AT ALL. And without the threat of the shot, the lane quickly closed in front of him, and he no longer had success inside the paint. Wish him the best in his career, and would be really funny to see him evolve in a different situation. Stinks it wasnt with the Rockets...and so we move on.
Someone in the Mavs front office believes Harden will be in play? As an aside, what will be interesting about this offseason with a bunch of teams having cap room is everyone can spend, and then if things go south, they can "off load" that person NEXT offseason because the cap will go up AGAIN. People being traded into space. So that potential "out", gives team license to spend away.
Just a horrible mixture of our coaching staff never trying to integrante him in the offense and then Lawson just losing any resemblance of confidence. Really thought he would eventually "get it" at some point. Oh well.
