I disagree with that. There's nothing redeemable about Cruz and I really hope he gets primary'd in 2018.
A primary run against Cruz? In Texas? A waste of time. He's insanely popular with Texas Republican voters and the establishment in Texas is so afraid of him they all lined up to endorse him.
In fact, if Cruz doesn't get elected this time but a Republican does, I expect him to be the next governor of Texas as he resume builds for another presidential run. If a democrat gets elected then everything he does between now and the next cycle will be geared for a presidential run. Just like this time.
my biggest issue with cruz, acts like an evangelical nut and that scares the **** out of me. i also don't like his ultra conservative positions on abortion, marriage, and drugs but he has said he would leave to states but i'm not sure if that's lip service.
How many liberals are voting in the republican primaries? Would be great stategery considering Bern is out of it at this point.

Vote cast for Kasich. If you must know: he is the most well-educate, mild-mannered, well-behaved, non-charlatan, principled individual in the Republican OR Democratic race.
I still voted for Bernie. It ain't over til it's over, as they say. I was the only one voting in the democratic primary in my precinct while I was there, though....
I mean, if they feel like wasting their vote, why not? That said, I think you can criticize that kind of thing pretty fairly. If you are still voting Kasich or Carson.....well, you don't really care about your vote.
Primaries are where your vote matters the most. If one feels like tossing away their vote on someone who has almost no chance to win, then feel free. You're better off casting your vote to where it matters. If you dont like your parties choices, then cast your vote across the isle on someone who you would prefer to see in the election. If you want to waste your vote, wait for the general election.
This is my problem with him. I would absolutely vote for him in the general election, but there's not enough to go around in Texas between Trump, Cruz, and him. He'd be lucky to finish 3rd in Texas, and even that is a longshot IMO. Regardless, don't see either him or Rubio hitting that threshold. Hopefully he'll do well in Ohio and some other states to make him a real player but I'm not optimistic.
I reckon we just have different views then on voting. IMO the only wasted vote is the not vote not cast. I always vote for the person that best represents me and my beliefs. If that person doesn't win... then I at least feel I have earned the right to criticize and complain. If I don't vote for the person who best represents my beliefs... how strong are my beliefs?
By this logic, I guess the Democrats should just stay home for the general election if they live in Texas.
I fully understand your logic. However if you were truly convicted in this belief, you would campaign for your candidate a long time ago. Voting day is not a day to make a hollow stand. I personally think candidates who have no chance should step out of the election process at this stage of the game.
