What else is he supposed to say?

I think that there is more going on with his back than the Rockets and D-Mo are letting on.

He isn't living up to the potential either. Once considered a Top 10 pick and he fell in the draft.

He could have been much better.

Porzingis is doing better now than he did at rookie stage.

It is either an injury, the coach or a bad streak of games.

If you consider that Josh Smith at the 4 position helped us to get to WC Finals....

The PF position was a problem for a long time.

When Dmo and Jones played their best, there was hope but we all wanted Lamarcus Aldridge, even a defensively crappy Kevin Love, David West, Millsap, Horford or another veteran competent PF!

You could go back and just browse through forum history

DMo and Jones played only half a season or little more of good basketball. That is not enough.

He was playing pro against best competition in Europe. He was best rebounder, always did what ge was asked to do. Suddenly, Rockets fans though that he was a guy who needs to be developed. He needed adjustment to the NBA style of game. Instead, first two seasons he mostly played in the NBDL.
Howard came and two basketball divas (H&H) decided that they want to play with TJones alonside them. Bench for DMo again.
Last season, with Howard out, DMo reluctantly was put in the starting position. Some of time he had to play out of his natural position against likes of Deandre Jordan, Mark Gasol etc. He did, once again, what he was asked to do. He always said, that a basketball player is a soldier, who does without questioning what his coaches tell him to do. Rockets began to play very nice game, DMo slowly becoming the guy with the best post moves in the NBA. And he shot during 4 months span above 42% long ball - best percentage of the team.
Back problems do not occur over night. They build up. DMo never complained. Last game before surgery he played with no feeling in his right leg. OK, looked like minor set back. Suddenly, he is forced to lay under the scalpel, to save his back from making him cripple. While specialist in LT said that there is no rush with such drastic surgical intervention. My family is very well established in this field (surgeries, sport medicine). Their consensus: OK, surgery, piece of cake, he had to be training after two months with very big possibility to help Rockets in the playoffs run. But something went wrong. DMo didn't play in playoffs, didn't play in Eurobasket '15, didn't play inpreseason and so on. Now all that soap opera began and Rockets have situation we know what kind.
Last day before the trade deadline - BOOM! Nobody saw it coming. OK, business is business, DMo now is a Piston.
What happened afterwards - just couple people know. But DMo got bleeped dirty, disgusting way. Whose fault it is, not for me to know. where are many different scenarios, but one thing is sure. DMo now always be a PF with bad back. It's like in politics. Doesn't matter how things are, important is how things look.
Maybe some bad blood between SVG and Morey, maybe good blood, maybe many other maybes.
For DMo my advice would be simple: after season is over, sign contract with some Euroleague elite team, make good money and see and wait what options wiil be for him in the summer of 2017. What's the point of signing a lame contract with some SAC or PHI blackholes and play for their affiliations in the NBDL.
DMo got played. He always says that bbal is the love of his life, so NBA GMs think that if he loves the thing, he should pay them $$$, not the other way around. Greed is good, right?
Dmo says that there is no "i" in the team. Guess what. NBA mostly revolves around different concept. There is no Team in the "i". For explanations ask harden, Howard and many other super mega diva stars with shoe contracts and with bentleys for their b****es.
DMo nowa Rocket again it's like rape victim moving in with the rapist.

Instead of romanticizing about Dmo and what could have been, should have been, would have been without injuries, Dmo fans should just thank the BBall Gods that they do not have to watch Pistons games no more.

What flaws DMo game have right now? And it would be very interesting to watch Pistons play, with good coach and a solid roster.

"Everybody, all the doctors he went to see when he was with Houston cleared him. Most of all the doctors he went to see said in Detroit cleared him too or said he was OK and then Detroit decided not to take the gamble on him." — Bill Worrell

"It's almost like they took an extra amount of time to decide if they really wanted to do the trade or not. As time went on, they thought they were giving up too much so they used the back injury to void the trade. — Matt Bullard

To be honest i hope this turns out like the tyson chandler trade to okc where it could have changed the landscape, but it was nixed and tyson ended up having many good years including being a difference maker with the mavs. Dmo is a likeable player with good upside and great work ethic/character. We will get him at a discount this summer and I am ok with that.

Dmo is fine, i have no problem with Dmo, if he plays at the level he had last year he would be a great piece of this team. Maybe his injury and the detroit failed trade is a blessing in disguise, his value must be pretty low right now, maybe we get to keep him at a reasonable price after all.

Yeah yeah... and if Brewer played like he did last year
And if Lawson played like he did 2 years ago
And if Jones played like he did 2 years ago
And if Terry was 10 years younger
    etc

Release the youngsters and move on.

Anyway this proves that the Pistons saved Morey from himself. We need PF's and he's giving the good one away.

We're not signing him after the season though. He'll walk like Parsons
