I wonder if the "controversy" helped create or offset the ratings decline. I thought it would help the ratings. So if it did help, it makes the poor ratings extremely bad.
I was waiting on her to tell us that her and whats-her-face are coming out with a new "Clueless" movie. I didn't know what she was doing.
None of the nominated movies I watched this year struck me as particularly great. I thought Interstellar was much better than The Martian.
I did not know who it was until I asked my gf. It looks like she maybe had some minor work done and botox.
I'm just glad that Leo talked to us about global warming while he flies private jets and rents giant yachts that use tons of fuel.
He shouldn't have based his whole opening to the black/white issue. He should have done a few jokes and then gotten into making fun of the actors in the audience. There were quite a few times during that opening I heard crickets chirping.
This was my issue with the whole thing. Like...obviously it's something that needed to be addressed, and I actually thought the jokes/critique he had were pretty good, but the whole entire thing didn't need to be centered around it, and not just his opening, but the entire show itself.
I think these ratings will trend lower and lower as most youths under 25 don't even watch these award shows. It's not relevant for the younger generations even if they watch some of the films nominated.
If anything, I'd think a hit movie being nominated for best picture would help ratings. Perhaps people are starting to recognize the Oscars as the giant circle jerk that it is, and are starting to lose interest.
You mean too much comp from TV with the movies at the box office in general so no one is willing to pay to go? or Too much comp from TV shows running concurrently with the Oscars telecast?
This is it I think. Year after year it's the same people in these awards just wearing different clothes.
The tan and freckles are noticeable qualities for her and i think she had too much makeup at the Oscars. Made her face look too white and covered the freckles with a thick base or however ladies call it.
