What I learned from this Oscars is that no matter how PC, liberal, "progressive", the Hollywood pretends to be, it'll always be okay to make fun of Asians.
It got one. Johan Johannesburg for music in sicario. It didn't win. That movie should've got way more noms though.
they showed a clip of her hosting that other thing with Jason Segal last week and she looked fine in that. Must be here makeup or something
I think it was fair criticism. Some of my favorite actors and they made some weird choices, especially Ruffalo. Shot completely flat and everyone was wearing khakis like constantly.
That Jada joke. I mean just damn. Hey Chris Rock, you know that #blacklivesmatter right? Hope you at least cover part of the funeral costs
I thought Chris Rock was great. I thought he was gonna ignore the diversity issue. I'll have to queue up spotlight and the big short
It got nominated for Cinematography. I thought that was phenomenal work. Too bad it didn't win that category. Benicio Del Toro should have been nominated for supporting actor.
It was not cinematographed better than The Revenant. I saw The Revenant Mad Max Sicario And would put Lubezki's work as the best of those three, just edging out Mad Max Can' speak to the other nominees in the category. As for Sicario generally, I wasn't that surprised or disappointed it wasn't nominated for a lot of awards. great movie, but didn't strike me as the best of the best in many ways.
For me Revenant and Brooklyn were incredibly well done with kinda standard stories of revenge or love. Spotlight was an incredible story made in a very bland way and it won out.
I thought Chris Rock and Louis CK were both funny; Leo winning was obviously the capper of the night for me. Looked at the ratings for the show; down 6 percent from last year
