Haha my mistake then. I'm a big fan of Mad Max (and I haven't watched The Revenant yet), but the clips that they showed of The Revenant during the nomination really did blow my mind. I have to give them credit there.

I find it's fascinating someone can be nominated or win an Oscar with just a couple lines of good dialog.

I thought Ex Machina was a great film. I don't follow the oscars that closely, but thought it would get more nominations than it did.
Maybe, but that definitely wasn't the case with him. Easily the weakest performance of any nominee imo.
