You all over think this a bit. Warriors could play better, so could the Thunder. Two great teams played each other...so in the end some guys will have bad nights, some guys will have good nights. It evens itself out. Any ways, Klay was not that good in the playoffs... Last year people thought the Warriors would steam roll through the playoffs and they didn't. The Pelicans were the only team they just out dominated. They had a series Some people are acting like they are sweeping OKC or the Spurs. Nah, these will be close series and if the Cavs are healthy and in rhythm that team will be harder than before either. I get it, they are great but they are not invincible.
He's obviously one is f the best in the NBA but if he could get his head on straight and play smart he could become so dominant
So can the rest of the thunder outside of Durant...that's the point. They are both great teams. People say "Well the Warriors could play better." they weren't playing by themselves. Their team performance is a result because they played against another team. The Rockets could have played better tonight too...but they were playing against an elite defense. So I never understand that argument.
KD needs to pull a Lebron and start his own super team. Otherwise, the only chance he can win a ring is if he joins the Ws.
If durant didnt foul out they would have won, he does not need to do that. Westbrook had 3 straight knucklhead plays to start the ot, doing his Haren impression throwing away the ball looking for fouls
Why form a superteam when one is already in GS, though? You did say "well, if OKC played better..." which naturally opens it up to looking up the box score stats and comparing just from that. Warriors aren't usually this bad from behind the arc. And of course OKC could play better as well, but they weren't as "off" tonight as the Warriors. OKC had home-court going for them, as well as knowing that this was a statement game they needed to win. I'd imagine that, from a mental mindset, this game was more important to OKC than it was to the Warriors. Warriors are just trying to break a record at this point. OKC might feel the need to prove they can hang with the best team in the league.
Tmac 13 in 35 sec is still the best game winner in the regular season and playoff. Anyone with me here?
Which given both of their games against the Warriors they have proved. Okc didn't NEED to win this game at all. This didn't put them in 4th or anything. They have to believe they can beat GSW and I don't think this game suddenly made them go. "Well ____, we have no chance against those guys." If anything it makes them shrug and go "Well if we had done this or that we win this game." and move on to the next.
No just because the Spurs got revenge that year by winning the title and the rockets lost game 7 by 40 in the first round
