The non-mouth breathing conservatives will have to come out for the SCOTUS vacancies.

These elections are coming down the wire more than what the demographics should represent...

I disagree. Trump naming SCOTUS justices isn't better than Hillary doing so.

The masterminds at the GOP are considering setting up a third party candidate if Trump wins the nomination.

Maybe they'll get down on their knees and hope Trump will agree to be advised on selecting the first Justice.

    What incredible leverage they have.

If the GOP seriously considered this, they would certainly hand the election to the democrats.
If their base can't get the candidate they want in the repubulican primary, what makes them think they can win as a third party.

I think the point is that handing the election to Hillary is safer than allowing for ANY possibility of a Trump presidency.

If Trump wins the GOP ticket this will be the first time I don't vote libertarian. I will be voting for Hillary. I don't like her, but that's easily the better of two evils in my mind.

Watching Chris Christie down on his knees sucking Donald Trump off in front of a bunch of hicks in Arkansas is just as disturbing as it sounds.....why would they think people want to see that?

    Trump = Erdogan = Putin

Even conservatives should see this. I am just in NY watching him speak, saying he'll open up libel laws to sue the media. Going down the same path as Erdogan.

Yeah, hes winning with 30 something percent in most states because the vote is so split up between the candidates. The conservative vote is split between Cruz and Rubio and that's why Trump will likely win. Neither of those two want to drop out but as long as one of them is in, the other can't win. If Cruz dropped out of the race today, Rubio would cake walk to the nomination and probably the presidency. Of course that'll never happen though.

Trump's single syllable name is much easier to chant when drowning out other people's voices dude. ∴ Way better than those other guys.

Lots of small men fearing a man because they ... can't relate to him.

That's not the job of a leader. You've had Obama holding your hand for 8 years and it hasn't exactly led to you doing cartwheels around your house.

Everything Trump says is theatrics. Looking into it is a waste of time. The comfort of mediocrity and underperforming has to stop - it will lead to a bigger, badder crash than the one you saw in 2008. Trust in the Donald, because you haven't proven able on your own. Unless your paychecks are based on complaining.

I am not sure that most of the Cruz voters would actually switch to Rubio rather than Trump if Cruz drops out.

Is there any recent polling data about the "second choice" of Cruz voters?

Edit: Also, even if one or more of the non-Trump candidate do drop out, the electoral math is such that the drop out needs to happen soon enough to actually stop Trump. Otherwise, Trump might rack up enough delegates for the candidacy before the "consolidation" actually happens.

I haven't seen those numbers but I find it hard to believe that Trump would actually be anyone's second choice. I can see him picking up a certain type of Republican voter, but I can't imagine that being more than like 30-40% overall. I don't think he wins a 2 man race against ANYONE.

This is one area I don't really have a good idea what Trump will do. Other than calling Cruz on his support of Roberts Trump hasn't made an issue of this.

Looking into Trump's past he has made statements indicating that he is somewhat socially liberal but at the same time he has made statements saying that he strongly supports national security even over Constitutional rights. That makes me think he would be inclined for nominees like John Yoo who embraced the idea of the unitary executive.

For Clinton I think it's pretty safe to say she would appoint people in line with her Obama and Bill Clinton's appointments. Moderate to left judges like Ginsburg and Sotomayor.

That's a reach, Jackie...Putin murders his political opponents. Trump hasn't done anything close to that. Erdogan appears to have double standards on terrorism, which again is quite far from Trump.

While I don't support Trump, the liberal media makes him seem far worse than he likely is. His comments about murderers and rapists coming across our Southern border is absolutely true. The media then extrapolated it into some racist comment where he thinks all Mexicans are murderers and rapists, which is a ridiculous exaggeration.

Ummm...I'm sure you watch fox news, are you even going to try and argue that they are the news station that has been the most vocal and critical of him? Even Trump thinks so.
