"Positions were just created so a novice can follow the game. Your skillset is your position. If you're a willing passer, you can be the primary ball handler. That's really what it boils down to. LeBron's the primary ball handler, Scottie Pippen was the primary ball handler. You are your skillset. Period. I think people will grow into that idea over the next 7-10 years." - Jalen Rose, Rolling Stone, 12/22/2014 I'll just leave this right here... Knicks fans will find anything to hate on because their franchise is so irrelevant. If Harden were on the Knicks, their fans would make him into a deity and ignore all his wrongdoings.
I work on cruise ships a lot and I've found the same thing from American sports fans, Harden gets virtually no respect. However, foreign NBA fans totally buy into Harden's beard, brand and greatness.
I'm a DMo fan as well, but I'm sorry, your signature hurts my eyes. Could you please tone it down a few notches? Thank you.
As a team leader I really don't like Harden (or I guess you could say I'm not "sold" on him. I feel like he's a fantastic 'beta' player who would thrive on the right team built for him). That being said, in terms of offensive production he is the #1 SG, no buts. I feel like people don't start using defense to rate top players until it becomes convenient. Klay Thompson is on a media darling team. If they didn't get the coverage they got last year, no one would be talking about him. Very solid player, but overrated at this point. Any logic used to argue that Klay is the #1 SG also has to suggest that Bogut is the #1 center and Harrison Barnes is the #1 SF, etc.. That team is the very definition of "synergy".
I am at a loss as to why you haven't been given rookie status. That would be doing you a favor, because I'm equally at a loss as to why you are still here at all. With all respect due.
Big difference between Dmo fans and DOFs. One group wants the best for DMo and the Rockets, while the other...
That's a great point. Towns is unanimously better than Okafor. Because Towns is all around player and Okafor is good on offense but horrible on defense. Doesn't remind you of anyone? You might have that guy in your name. So according to you, it's not ok to blame Harden for his non existing defense, but ok to use it again Okafor. Kareem called Dirk a one trick pony. Imagine what NBA people gonna say when Harden gonna be nearing his retirement: he never played defense, he never won the ring...
It would be amusing if he wasn't such a pathetic kid. He's either a troll or so clueless as a fan that laughing at him feels like kicking a puppy.
Harden is by far the best 2 guard in the N.B.A and its not even close. I know sometimes he doesn't play D like he should but look at the horrible play of everyone around him. It blows my mind people that are Rockets fans hate on him. I hope he doesn't leave after his contract or we will be Philly for at least three years after. Dude has to score 40 points for us to even have a chance at winning.
Harden was the best player on a WCF team last year. While he was still a prospect, he was the third best player on an NBA finals team. Your arguments for lack of winning on his part are misguided, because this season hasn't finished yet. See what Harden does in the playoffs before you make your judgment. If you wanna bash superstars who can't get it done in the playoffs, try your arguments out on McGrady, Chris Paul, Kevin Love, or Blake Griffin .
I think this might be true. I live in Austria, Europe. Now basketball isn't huge here, but I know quite a few people in Austria and elsewhere in Europe who love basketball. Most of them are NOT Rockets fans but they DO think Harden is the real deal and lately have actually agreed with me that Harden, currently, is being severely underrated, disrespected even.
AMEN. Klay is in the perfect position on the perfect team. His flaws are greatly overshadowed by the greatness of his team. Harden on the other hand... His flaws are enhanced because he's not on a great team. This team has taken a nose dive. Hell, last year he was voted MVP by the players. If that doesn't speak volumes I don't know what will.
