I was really mad about it for a while, but I finally came to realize that that kind of election is EXACTLY what the people deserve. I wanted to be optimistic, but nope, the people of this country deserve Hillary and Trump because that's the quality of people they are.
"Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."
That has always been the biggest flaw with Democracy, it can only be as good as it's people. Bad people, bad government. Good people, good government. It's pretty clear what this election says about Americans.
they are normal people too. to pretend otherwise, i.e. statesmanlike, ALL THE TIME, is just too fake for me.
Wow, texx, still struggling I see. Your first thought in the morning, your last as you go to sleep, Obama? Wow, you might want to talk to someone about it. But, this is a discussion thread about Donald Trump. Stay focused now, Trump, There you go... hey, here's a picture: There you go... the guy you will be voting for come November (perhaps sooner). How's that working for you?
Wow, bigtexxx is so far in your head it is embarrassing. Did you guys have some sort of a scuffle? I must have missed some D&D drama.
I don't even know the guy. He's been following me around like a puppy dog because I own him. I am controlling his emotions right now.
I taught you well bigotexxx. I like how you use the ownage I used against you many years ago and then try to flip it on someone else. I guess that's kind of how bullying works. When you bully someone really badly like I did to you many years ago, then you have to take it out on someone else. I am sorry I did that to you. I wasn't a good person in my past and I scarred you emotionally. It's ok, time to let go Bigotexxx. break the cycle, stop trying to bully others, and you might find peace. it is time for you to embrace the love you have in your sig. Nah - you don't mean that crap! haha! MLK! I love you bigotexxxx! The MLK stuff is genius! Brilliant! You are my favorite bigot. Tex!
Establishment donors so scared of Trump they are already looking at running someone third party! http://www.politico.com/story/2016/02/doors-gop-consulting-independent-219859
Gee, I must have struck a nerve, since this is now something personal? I was interested in your thoughts on Donald Trump (you know, the topic) and how you will be voting for him, and instead, you first talk about President Obama, and now, me. While I am honored that I appear to also dominate your thoughts in the same way President Obama, I am surprised. And all this time I thought you were someone that only focuses on the political discussion at hand. I am truly disappointed that you are so easily knocked off your game. Perhaps I misjudged you and your abilities. Maybe next election cycle?
In an historic battle of crassness for the leadership of the free world, there is really nor reason for us peons to get personal.
Ya gotta love that "#NeverTrump" is trending worldwide on Twitter, goes to show that it's not the entire world that is r****ded, just a plurality of the GOP base apparently.
Oh that would be totally fake. But this wasn't "ALL THE TIME". It was at their campaign speeches and rallies which is a time when it's normal to expect statesman like behavior. I absolutely don't expect them to not be normal people. They shouldn't have to be statesmanlike "ALL THE TIME". Only when they are do the work associated with vying for the job of being the top number 1 statesman in the United States. If that's too much for you to expect out of a candidate, that's fine, but it wouldn't hurt to raise your standards a little. Hoping for something above the level of jokes about wetting their pants isn't really expecting too much. Also if that level of insult is their "normal" people level, then they don't seem to be that great at being normal people.
Trump has a very good shot. I expect conservatives (including many nervous ones on this board) to fall in line with him, just like the GOP will. Once he's out of the nutball primaries and starts naming advisors and what-not, he'll be just as full of bluster but will look slightly more palatable, moving toward the pragmatic-sounding phrases and away from the xenophobic type phrases. That's my prediction. 50/50 Trump or HRC as next POTUS.
I strongly doubt that conservatives "fall in line" with Trump, it's much more likely that they either don't vote, do a protest vote, or run a 3rd party candidate. I could see some people that identify only as "Republicans" falling in line, but actual conservatives are as ideologically opposed to Trump as they are to Hillary or Sanders so I just can't see it.
