I actually thought what you meant is this : Marcus believed JB could be a successful coach in this league and will lead the Rockets to success. - Yolo : Yeah I actually believe he said so, and that's exactly the reason why the Rockets waived a player with such low IQ.
I guess we'll never know. Hope the best for him though. I think it's better in the long run that he is not here.
He was found on the offseason scrap heap for a reason. The guy can put the ball in the hole on occasion, but he sucks at everything else and his attitude leaves a lot to be desired. He's very Von Wafer like in the fact that he clearly has the ability to be very valuable player, just not the overall mindset.
Hope KJ McDaniels plays more if Morey isn't able to find any buyout candidates. Kid plays hard and deserves PT..
If we bring in a Viper, then I wouldn't be surprised if it was Hamilton (or Putney). But hopefully we go with a vet who can help more in our playoff hunt. Or (PLEASE) just play more KJ.
This isnt a fantasy league journeymen on a 1yr vet minimum dont get traded unless part of a bigger deal to match salaries. There Non Bird rights are useless. They dont even have value as an expiring contract because we cant take a player with less salary back since he's already at the minimum and forget about getting a 2nd rounder back. the other owner would just ask for cash instead
If I am not mistaken this will not effect the lux tax unless he is claimed There would have to be a deal for him to be picked up by another team, or claimed....otherwise, there will need to be another move. DD
^^^. True. But at vet minimum, any team can claim him. Who knows, with his very classy comments maybe we are doing him a solid knowing a playoff team will claim him
I am sure that is a bit of the case, save the Rockets some money, and let him go to another team. Tuesday March 1st is the deadline so there will be some movement between now and then. DD
both of them are good trading pieces and on a team that has a real coach they can do a lot better than here.
Sixers need to tank, they can pick him up as he chucks them into last place! Ish was helping the team too much.
I guess you are talking about some fantasy world where the trade deadline has not expired. Thornton has no value as a trade now, like you are trying to say. What are you going to trade an expiring vet minimum player for on Draft Day? Teams will just wait to the summer when he's a free agent.
Tuesday is the deadline for players to be waived; after which, if they are waived, they are ineligible for playoffs. Since we waived him today, he is eligible to make a playoff roster. He is not required to sign by March 1st, though. To make a playoff roster, he just needs to sign with a team by the end of the regular season.
Haven't read this whole thread, so I apologize beforehand if I made a comment already stated in here. But releasing Thornton is a huge chemistry boost; this guy was all about his and nothing else. I loved him when he was here, but when I learned the truth I was really disgusted. He took the plays out to get his own buckets, was worried about his next contract, and really didn't care what others thought. He was just trying to make sure he was "going to get paid" next summer. That's the kind of mentality we do not want. We have five pending FAs, including him. Terrence, Dmo, Ty, Dwight, and him. Dwight obviously wants his money, but Thornton has been far more selfish with far less output. I hope this puts us on the right track. It's really unfortunate we're discussing a buyout with Ty. It's a pity we didn't have a coach that could discipline our team for coming into camp so out of whack and instead make excuses for it and why we'd start slow.
