Cmon dude..... I know you like howard a lot and I do too but he's a terrible passer. Occasionally he makes some good reads but he occasionally shoots freethrows good. Doesn't mean he's got at it.
yea..seems like monitoring Harden's minutes this year starting to pan out possibly towards the end...wishful thinking..we shall see...he played a ton of minutes last night..let's see how this goes.
You do know who our starting four right now is right? I just want to make sure you know that... Dwight has two options on defense. He can either A) Contest the drive, leaving Beverley/Harden/Ariza/Brewer to grab the rebound against an opponents true 4. B) Not contest the shot, go for the rebound, and possibly allow just an easy lay up to the basket. What is he supposed to do? Harden is our second best rebounder. Until a true four is put beside Dwight...one who knows how to box out, and actually rebound, you'll never see the full benefit from him. What he did last night was actually quite remarkable. The way he controlled the paint as the only big out there. Doing multiple jobs at once on defense, and you blame our defensive problems on him?
Probably the best stats ever for a NBA player in a 15 games span when his team was having a 7-8 records.
Mayne, so true Harden was great on BOTH ends last night overall. Didn't need too many whistles, shot well, and D'd up. So, props to the "good" half.. lol. TO's and defense affects records.
What a coincidence! The last thread I made about Harden was exactly 15 games ago. At the time, he had been playing like crap for a while, but I wanted to discuss a sense of urgency that showed up in him that night and see if other people thought he could keep it up. Spoiler—most didn't: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=271974 Nah but seriously, he's played very well this past month or so. Last night was even better.
In 8 games in February, Harden has average 32.8 ppg, 7.3 apg, and 6.9 rbg on 46.2% FG% and 36% from 3%. Also average 10-12 from the line. 5 games with 30+, along with 2 that are 40+ That's a quite a run. Problem is, we're still 4-4 over that stretch. Team looks a bit better coming out of the all-star break though for sure.
All defense related. I'm seeing a tad bit more effort right now. I wouldn't mind letting JB grow as a coach. Potential is there to be a great coach. He is starting to get it.
With Harden's performance and Howard firing his agent, it sounds like these guys are focused on playoffs, rather than all the drama. Looking forward to the rest of this season!
Just got to get rid of Brewer and Jones. I don't know what they got on him but he just keeps on playing them.
