His energy and presence off the bench sparked a huge comeback.

Right now he's the only PF that can play worth a damn at all. When/if DMo gets back that'll make 2 PF's that are good enough to be on the court but till that happens it's Harrell and small ball.

His PnR D was fantastic. He hedged every screen and had active hands to disrupt the passing lane to the roller before he recovered. Pretty much the only big in the first half to bring a good level of defensive technique and energy. At the very least he needs more minutes. I'm good with a 3 big rotation of Dwight, Trezz, and Capela, and going small ball a bunch with two of them off the floor when matchups dictate it.

His greatest strength is weak side put backs...let Dwight do his thing...but then let crash 2.0 do his thing.

Also his ability to finish with contact around the rim makes him a superior alternative to Terrence Jones...

And then when the lane is all clogged up you'll see why this isn't a realistic move

The important thing is that he replaces Jones in the rotation. He brings great energy to the second unit, really nice to see after watching Jones play so tentative most of the time.

i think we keep trezz coming off the bench. Capella and Howard start until dmo is ready, then dmo starts and that's our 4 man rotation. I stick to 3 man until dmo comes back. Jones and smith just suck

What difference does it make? The only PF on the roster that can space the floor is DMo and he's not available yet. Going Harrell over Smith or Jones is just deciding to go with someone who is a net positive on the court over the 2 vets that are net negatives on the court.

None of those guys are great options. Its pretty much a crap shoot but what you do knownnis Harrell clogs the paint more than it already is. If youre trying to get harden going this isnt the best option. If you dont care then it doesnt matter then

Harrell isn't any worse of a shooter than Jones or Smith so I'm not sure why you think Harrell clogs the paint more.

Doesnt matter if hes a better shooter or not. Its how the defense plays him at the moment that clogs the paint. Thats just another big in the paint area where he spends most of his time.

The Rockets at the 5:34 mark of the 3rd switch Harrell in for Howard who picked up his 4th foul. The Rockets were down 18...and closed to within 7 at the end of the 3rd.

Everyone thinks Harrell cant play along side dwight, but I believe he really can. If the Rockets feed the post and try getting Dwight going on one side of the block, having Harrell attack the weak side on tip ins etc...may open up more space for our shooters. Infact he may be able to take pressure off Josh Smith and allow him to run the offense with the bench unit...utilizing his playmaking ability along side Capela who can essentially do the same thing Harrell does of the bench.

IN terms of the bench rotation, the Rockets need to let JET run the point, KJ play the 2, Brewer as the 3, Smith as the 4 and Capela at the 5. Keep it limited to these 10 guys, and watch the team take off defensively.

Harrell wouldnt average 20 mpg due to foul trouble.. It would ultimately take away some of his aggressiveness and he'd be hesitant .. i like him off the bench.. Get 20 mpg that way...

LOL so you don't think ability to shoot matters when it comes to spacing the floor? Wow.
