That is exactly what I have a problem with violence is overal, and in the movies it is glorified. But sex is frowned upon and displayed as dirty. There is no problem with watching football played try to break each other, while at halftime we see many trailers of movies with a lot of violence, but when people see 1 nipple the whole country goes crazy. America is just a country of prudes. The episode of South park "fun with weapons" sums up my thoughts pretty good. It is sad that something that is mostly bad (violence) is glorified and something that is mostly good (sex) is being treated like a leper. This whole scaredness of sex in the American society combined with the stupid abstinance education leads to a lot more teen pregnancies than in most other developed coutries (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prevalence_of_teenage_pregnancy). But I am getting dangerously close to D&D material, and this is a thread about a fun movie, So I will stop. That being said I have not seen deadpool, So I cannot Judge what is appropriate and what is not. I do look forward to watching the movie, it sounds like fun.
Gee thanks for these wall of texts and criticisms of amercia for nothing then. go watch some pr0n with your family and tell us how enlightened y'all are.
You are welcome. I thought the greatest country in the world could handle some friendly criticism:grin: I did not comment on the movie I commented on the reaction on the sex and the lack of comments on the violence, and the general reaction of americans on sex and violence. That being said. You are right, I should not have made a post which belongs in the D&D in this thread. I apologize.
Euros have plenty of ammunition to criticize America because they see what we put on TV, and they see what happens in the news, and they think that makes them knowledgeable enough about us to criticize. If the actual substance of America was what the MSM and tv marketing whizzes portray us as, then they would be right in their criticisms. However, obviously those things show only either highly subjective social and political commentary, or the worst dregs they can throw on television, because everyone loves looking at a train wreck. Real Housewives, Jersey Shores, Kardashians, ad nauseum. Politicians getting stupider by the day, and that's all anyone in other countries seem to see of us. So, can't blame him for it, but it would be nice if some of them could look past that superficial layer and dig a little deeper. Then they would not be so quick to dish out the expert opinions on a country they really don't know. Having said all that, pretty sure Deadpool would F up some foreign mercs or terrorists of vaguely middle Eastern-looking descent, and then make a joke about it afterward. So, that's fun.
i'm with arno_ed america would be more beautiful if our weather girls would do the weather topless. primer impacto for the win.

I may have missed this... I know Deadpool was a badass before the mutation, but at what point did he become such a badass that he's jumping way higher than any human, seeing things in "slow-motion", throwing things at the exact right time, speed and angle to hit what he wants to hit, etc.? It seemed like the mutation was his healing ability. Was it also just make him a non-human badass?
Seriously you are looking at a comic book character and questioning their powers....of a comic book character? Just enjoy the movie - there is not a lot of deep thought in a comic book character. DD
Remember Ajax mentioned he was once a 'patient' at their little 'clinic'? And he mentioned that the process did multiple things to him, made him stronger, increased his reflexes and agility. Oh and also made him unable to feel any thing like pain. So, it's not an unreasonable leap to assume that the process which gave him the healing ability also did other similar things to what happened to Ajax. Figure he spent the time after escaping the facility sort of learning his new abilities, like Peter Parker did when he woke up one day as a super-powered person. And all that leaping around and stuff was the result.
I didn't like Deadpool because it was just about him. Give me a good, old fashioned, TEAM SUPERHERO MOVIE.
Yes, why is this surprising? All comic book character stories and movies start with HOW they got their powers. It's basically the fundamental starting block of the mythology of each of these characters... and in many cases might be why one fan prefers superhero A vs. superhero B. Yeah... i guess this is it. Just wasn't explained very well.
Regarding what he wants to hit: Spoiler I thought he was supposed to be super accurate with guns/firearms, but in the opening sequence he missed a few shots.
violence is CGI not the awesome 1980's robocop nightmare fuel. No where near as bad as the (thankfully over) torture p*rn movies of a few years ago. sex is mild also. no nudity I can remember during sex, only strip club. It is mostly language that is has an R.
I'm very familiar with her as a w**** from firefly. I remember her in a tiny skirt but never exposing her cans. Those really intense scenes (pegging) were shot tight for comedic effect.
