What would be the worst part for everyone personally if Trump gets elected? The fact that Donald J. Trump is the president of the United States and all the things that would bring with it? OR The fact that Honey Bear would become unbearable, posting at the frequency of Bobbythegreat but a tad more annoying?
LOL... its interesting watching Republicans slowly accepting their situation... that they will soon be voting for a complete idiot as President of the United States. Oh, they try to justify it with "lesser of two evils" or "hold my nose while pulling the lever". Others are trying to convince that "well, he has been a successful businessman". And my favorite... "he isn't as crazy as he seems... he can't be." But deep down inside... they admit to themselves... "I am voting for a crazy person." And only pray that he doesn't screw everything up. And all you so called "independents" and "libertarians"... you will all be voting for him too...
There's zero chance that Trump becomes the president because if he wins the nomination it will lead to Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and other 3rd party people all agreeing on one thing, that Donald Trump cannot become president. I would expect either Hillary or Bernie to win in a landslide. It could be the most one sided election ever.
You talk too much - women don't like that. Expect a record breaking number of Democrats and independents to vote for trump in Texas. He has no party affiliation - that's why people love him. Not a nepotic goon like Bush, or a meek guy pandering to the bare minimum like Obama.
As a matter of fact, being an unapologetic Trump supporter is enough to get you permanently on my ignore list, goodbye kiddo.
Another man that gets it. Bobby will be the last person to understand the Trump phenomenon. Btw, if you are not a man, I apologize.
Oh I get it....it's the same reason that pyramid schemes and the Bernie Madoff's of the world are so successful. The American people really ARE just that stupid and honestly, they will fully deserve what is coming to them when the inevitable happens. I've tried to be optimistic, but it's becoming more and more clear to me that people really are going to nominate Charlie Sheen to be the Republican candidate for president and I'm coming to accept it. As such, let's hope that Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton will be a good president.
Trump is unelectable. He is the single worst thing to happen to the Republican party in the last century. The Republican base knows this which is why they fear him.
I can put up with annoying posters here. I have my own filter and there is the Ignore function, or just go and spend my time doing something else. What will probably be the hardest thing for me to deal with personally is still trying to do business and visit other countries. Americans and others like to make fun of Putin showing off how much of a man he is. That pales already to Trump's rhetoric.
I've been very critical of Sanders and Sanders supporters but I don't really fault them much if being anti-Clinton is one of there issues. Elections aren't in vacuums and who the opponent is matters. I would hope that people would look deeper in to why they oppose a particularly candidate than just anger because they are the establishment candidate but will agree there is a lot of other reasons to dislike Clinton. Since this is the Trump thread I think you are greatly discounting why Trump and his presidency might be a very bad thing. The fact that he has said so much outrageous things and still continues to lead the GOP primaries is a bad sign about where the party and much of the electorate is. Trump's rhetoric does have implications beyond just the race and also beyond the country. Trump in many ways embodies the ugly American and his rhetoric is already hurting our standing with the rest of the world and will make it much more difficult to address many problems globally. Trump is first and foremost about Trump. A Trump Presidency will represent a cult of personality that will be driven by personal loyalty to him. That is not the type of America that I would like to see. It's possible. Since I think Trump's true ideological views are far more moderate that he currently is showing and might able to craft legislation that both parties can agree on. The problem though is that he might also alienate both parties and end up in not just a gridlock with Congress but a level of personal animosity that does paralyze the country.
Trump can only win if he draws a lot of votes from the Democrats. Conservatives will not vote for him. I have decided there is no way I can vote for him. I have held my nose and voted for Romney and McCain but my conscience would not let me live with myself if I voted for Trump. I will not cast a Presidential vote for the first time in my adult life if Trump wins. All of my other Conservative friends feel the same way. If Cruz or Rubio do not get the nomination this country is screwed no matter what.
I've only been following his campaign for the lulz, but are you saying he is less conservative than McCain?
This. Trump just continues to be underestimated. I'm not even a supporter of his but it is impressive. I think he would destroy Hilary Clinton in the debates. She doesn't excite the left at all and I know some Bernie supporters that would vote Trump over her (believe Trump is a closet liberal...he may be tbh).
Here are some examples of Trump quotes some of which may have already been mentioned in this thread. Once Trump is the nominee his background and every quote will be scrutinized to the dogs and back. Constant demeaning of women publicly, picking twitter fights and calling people names. Does that seem like the necessary character and gravitas you would expect from the POTUS? Interviews leading up to the election will make the infamous Couric/Palin debacle look like nothing. The man will continue to spew irrational, hateful, non evidence based, garbage. And while there are some ignorant fools out there who believe he is just keepin it real yo, this shtick won't be enough to propel him to the oval office. Just immediately halt all flights or we will have a plague on our hands? Hyperbole much? Extremist much? Even as imbecilic as a lot of people in this country are I still don't believe they will willfully vote this man for President.
Look. I get the allure of wanting to watch the whole thing burn down. I get it. But if you honestly think it would be a controlled blaze, one that wouldn't negatively affect a ton of Americans in the process, AT BEST you're incredibly naive. More likely, you're one of the poorly educated voters than Donald loves so much.
