Because there will be better talent available.

Wentz just passes the eye test ... He looks better than some QBs rated ahead of him. I'd love to have the first pick there

In the first round? Who will still be available?

Ya there are big concerns about his personality and lack of leadership qualities. Apparently it was pretty well known around MSU.

My bigger concern is his play against quality opponents last season. Outside of the Oregon game, he threw under 50% completion rate and just 1 TD versus Michigan, Iowa State, and Bama combined.

When we draft, probably only Cook, Prescott and Hack available?

It's looking that way for sure. There is a decent chance all 3 could be available by our 2nd pick as well.

Why even think of a QB in the 1st? There will be plenty of qbs at our 2nd-3rd pick.

yea just like they thought they could grab Garappollo with the 3rd round pick and
the patriots traded up and drafted him.

If the Texans really believe in a QB in this draft- than you take him when you can-
there might be other organizations that also believe in that guy and will draft him if you pass on him

I'd love to see your response after they pick Kevin Hogan with the 1st pick

That was true for that draft. This one has better talent, imo, than Hackenberg and Cook being slotted down through the 3rd-4th rounds.

Dak Prescott seems to be rising

Ya I like Prescott a lot. A good showing at the combine could raise his stock more than other QBs IMO.

If the Texans see a QB at their first pick who they project to be league average or better, they should not **** around and just draft him.

I'm not sure Prescott or cook will be there when we draft in the second.

But probably Hack and Cardale will

To me Cardale is a much better choice in that situation.

It's funny. I said Wentz was in the Andrew Luck mold. Two months later, now Mayock says it. It's totally tire, though.

Not that Luck is as good as people make him out to be. It's just that if Wentz had gone to an SEC school, or a Big Ten or PAC 12 or whatever, he'd be compared to Luck quite often, and he'd be a for sure number one pick.

He's the guy I'd love to have. I wouldn't mind Goff. I dotn expect either to be available, but I could see a wild scenario to where we could leapfrog the Rams for one of them.

Hackenberg, to me, is still a nice consolation prize. Even though most don't consider that to be the case. By consolation prize, I mean second round pick.

Will tiny hands Jared slip like tiny hands Teddy? :p

One point of curiosity for coaches/scouts entering combine week: how does Jared Goff measure?
