Well, than that really sux. There goes the possible buyer remorse instead of real health concern.

IMO that pick was more valuable than an injured DMo. I think we had plenty to lose.

Just what was reported about the nature of their injuries....and McHale just recently saying Howard couldn't even bend over when he got here....and Howard saying it took a year to get fully healthy....

Howard was a better player than DMo before the surgery. Elliott was a better player than DMo before his kidney transplant.

That is the main point here... DMo's development has been stunted by this. Odds are, he won't even get back to where he was at his peak last year... which was merely an effective role player, nothing more.

He was a super role player.

I don't really think you can go lower than rock bottom anyway... so there's that.

Howard was back from his surgery by training camp with the Lakers. Though diminished and never back to his pre-surgery form, he still averaged 17/12 in 76 games his first season back. DMo has yet to play meaningful minutes.

    DMo contract year

If he doesn't play or doesn't play well it means he sucks or is broken

Honestly, it's still kind of hard to tell what is what. Obviously, there are scenarios which are more likely, but this forum seems to be writing off DMo completely. I am worried as if he could have serious long-term issues, but hopefully he can still contribute. Maybe he'll need to go back to Europe where there's less contact basketball.
Anyway, you guys think he's gonna see any playing time the rest of the season (including playoffs)?

The year is almost 3/4's of the way done... and he already tried to come back once.

Is there such thing as a contract 10 games? Because that's about how much time he'll have left to show something if it really does take a few more weeks to get back to speed without any setbacks.

You think DMO at 40% is a starter in the NBA? Wow.

At this point over half the season is gone. Dmo is definitely not going to make a difference with 20 games left in the season. His main focus should be really just trying to get his back fully healthy to begin the year next year and having a great offseason coming up.

The thing is, this is his contract year. If he doesn't play, nobody will know what to offer him in the off season. That might be good for the Rockets. We might be able to keep him cheap. It sucks for DMo though.
